Ugh. Well, journals are here for a reason. Time to put them to use. So, I am SOOOO sorry that I have an opinion on something. [RepoMen] I can understand where you're coming from when you say that Repo! The Genetic Opera and Repo Men have very similar plot lines. BUT. 1. Repo Men is not a musical. 2. Repo Men is not a dreary future. Though it is the future. 3. REPOSESSION HAS BEEN USED IN FILMS BEFORE. Maybe not organs, but Hollywood films have run through every possible genre/plot if you ask me. Another thing: Jude Law and Liev Schreiber. I love these actors. So, as a fan, I will see this movie. I don't give a st if the plots are alike. I really don't. If it looks good to me, then I'll see it. And I'm not so sure that people will become new Repo! fans if they do see this film. Repo! is not a widely known movie. [despite the number of followers on Gaia/Facebook/DA] I hope that Repo Men becomes a successful film. At least they have someone willing to give it a shot. /rant over [[And I am in no way bashing Repo! Not at all. So please, don't think that I am, whoever is reading.]] sweatdrop EDIT: I love this person. EDIT EDIT: Oh wow. Was I this angry? Sheesh. Looking back now, I want to apologize for my anger. I just have a short fuse, believe it or not. But anyway, again, PLEASE do not take this personally. It's not directed at anyone here, really. More on a few other sites. No offense, but you have a lot of facts wrong. You do realize that Universal did in fact steal the idea from Terrance and Darren right after they refused to get rid of the music in order to sponsor them? They also did in fact stalk the Repo! crew, learned more of their filming ideas, and purposely tried to sabotage the shooting of it by trying to steal the production team and shooting right next to them at the same exact time. The idea of repossessing organs did not originate out of the blue for Universal. The Repo! organs are also artificial. They are bio engineered designer organs to withstand the possibility of more organ failures in the first place and to be a new fashion statement.

Oh, and the book? The book was not even published when they were filming it, and what I have been told by people who have read the book the movie is nothing like it. Repo! began as a ten minute Opera by Terrance and Darren back in the late 90's called Necromerchant's Debt, which later evolved into a full blown stage play known by the same name the movie has in early to mid 2000's. The director of Repo Men! even admitted to all of this at a party in LA, and said the reason they did not release the movie sooner was the known issue of Repo! fans knowing the truth and them knowing what would happen if it was released around the time Repo! was.

All of this have come from the mouths of the people involved with Repo! themselves, some of whom I have spoken to and met in person. Like I have said, no offense but when you rant about something, please have your facts correct.

Thank you for the information.
If they did stalk, then that is their deal. No one can control that but themselves. I have also heard that Terrance and co. denied Universal and so on. I can understand that. And if all that information is true, so be it. Can't change it now.

I also saw how the book was not published at the right time, and I'll edit that. [amongst other things]

I know about the stage play and such, yes.

And I'm sorry that my facts are wrong. I'm trying my hardest not to get caught up in this sudden frenzy, but it seems to be happening whether I like it or not.

And I hope this doesn't offend you, but even after all of this information, I'll still be giving my support.

I am not one to preach what someone should and should not support. smile I just do not like it how people think they know things when they really do not, and start using their "knowledge" and calling it fact, especially when they refuse to take the real facts to heart and continue using their own. (not that you did that all, but there are people who are just that stubborn out there and I have seen so much of this on another site for something completely different than this...).

As long as you understand the truth behind it all, that is all I care about. heart

And the comment about having a short fuse? I am like that as well when people bash others for their own selfish reasons. I can actually go overboard defending the victims if I am not careful. xD
