This morn as I stared at the ceiling I held a different anticipation than normal. When I awoke any other day I'd be thinking of perhaps my daily chores. The market, the field, and things of that such; but this morning I only held a taste for adventure. Naturally there was a bit of apprehension as I pulled on my sturdiest tunic, perhaps a tinge of fear. I thought to myself "My reserve is strong, I said I'd do this." as I stood at my door waiting for several minutes before I finally took to opening it.
See today is the day I set out on my venture. Where? Not sure.. Why? Because this is the life I've chosen. These four walls grow weary on me, I wish to explore this world and see it's glories, bear witness to it's secrets, and learn it's truths. The life of a laborer, a mere peasant, or farmer is not for me.
My mother.. May God bless her soul.. Tried her damnedest to dissuade me. Speaking of danger, death, disease. She actually had managed to make me stop to think on it. You know, it's not an easy choice to make really.. No man wants to meet his demise before his time. This had me hesitant for a long while, but it occurred to me that living this life as I am now; I may as well be walking dead already.
So I set out, just a few minutes past the noon. With a sack so generously given to me by the market Tanner slung over shoulder, and a short steel sword that I worked many a night to earn the silver for at waist I began walking. Now that I was out, I'd never turn back, never look behind. Forward forward, from now on...
Well.... I guess I could look, just this once ya know?
