Today I found a friend Who knew everything I felt She knew my every weakness And the problems I’ve been dealt She understood my wonders And listened to my dreams She listened to how I felt about life and love And knew all of what it means Not once did she interrupt me Or tell me I was wrong She understood what I was going through And promised she’d stay long So I reached out to this friend To show her that I care To pull her close and let her know How much I care Too often we don’t realize What we have until it’s gone Too often we wait to late to say “I’m sorry- I was wrong” Sometimes it seems we hurt the ones We had dearest to our hearts And we allow foolish things To tear our lives apart Far too many times we lat Unimportant things in our minds And then it’s usually to late To see what made us blind So be sure you let people know How much they mean to you Take the time to say the words Before you’re that is through Be sure that you appreciate Everything you’ve got And be thankful for the little things In life that mean a lot.
