biggrin And so it begins. Mandalas also begin but, hopefully, will have no end. I'm currently working up ideas for several mandalas based on Christian iconography. Unlike Buddhist symbols however, they are not always similar in size or style. My usual nicely arranged mandala is displaced by a design that continues to grow ovoid rather than circular. The circle is important. Even when the circle has been enrobed inside of a square, it frees itself with yet another circle. Burgundy, maroon, purple, royal purple, metallic gold, scarlet and teal keep flashing through my mind as colors that need to represent themselves in my mandala, How to arrange so much vibrant color with the somewhat somber icons of martyred saints? I know I can accomplish it without resroting to a flood of gilding. Patience. Balance. Breathe. Peace.
