The sun finally began crawling behind the horizon, turning the sky from a deep bloody red to a deep shade of purple as the stars began to wake. Cold shadows blanket the world, dancing across the dimly lit houses and alley ways. Slowly, but surely, night falls completely. One by one houses go dark as people shuffle on in for the night all around town. The only visible light comes from a single dimly lit lamp in a dark alleyway, save for a crescent moon above...
"Say it...", a man's voice speaks from the shadows, "Just say it...", he continues grimly, shifting his seating on an old crate up against the far wall of the alley, his face bathed in shadows and his clothes blending into the darkness...
"Heh...what is there to say?", a second person speaks from beneath the flickering lamp light, her tanned skin glowing in the low lighting, "You lied to me. I have nothing left to say to you.", she continues coldly, her raven hair hiding her eyes. The man grins slightly and lets out a dry laugh to himself...
"Did I? Did I really?", he says again, his grin catching the light causing it to glow slightly,"How can you be so sure?", he continues leaning in more causing his grin glowing brighter as it catches more light."I've told you what-"
"Shut up!!! Just shut up!!!", the girl cuts him off with a shrill yell, her hands balling up, "Enough with these mind games Zach!!!", she yells more shrilly, tears streaming,"Just tell me who you really are!!!", she yells again, but this time not as harshly. The man lets out a dark laugh, his eyes connecting to hers...
"So then...", the man begins, pulling his gloves off and putting them in his pocket, "You've got it all figured out now do ya?",he continues, not breaking eye contact, "Heh...Ariel dear...you don't know the half of it...", he continues shifting his head into his hand...
"Then tell me Zach...please", she girls says through her tears,"I want to understand...", she says again, more painfully, biting her lower lip and looking down. The man doesn't move or speak immediately, he simply watches her as she stands weakly before him. pichon. The sound seems to echo through the darkness, forcing a dagger through his heart.
"Alright then...", he speaks as he closes the gap between them quickly, pulling her close in his arms. The girls speaks something incoherently as she goes limp in his arms, her eyes closing as she takes in his warmth. Minutes pass by slowly as the two stand there in the flickering lamplight. The man's snow-white hair and porcelain white skin glowing in the unrelenting darkness, his eyes like twin lamps in the night, close slightly as he begins again,"You know I love you Ariel...right?", he speaks gently. The girl's heart skips a beat as her cheeks turn rosy and she speaks to him sheepishly...
"Y-yeah...". The man lets a sly smile travel across his face as he reaches behind himself...
"Then know this. I'm sorry but I must do this...", he speaks to her gently. Before the girl can react, there is a flash of something silver as the light disappears from above. A blood-curdling scream rips through the night and then...nothing...
