It's finally moving day. My mother and aunt have graciously loaded everything into a U-haul truck up in the old city and are bringing it down today. So most of my tasks will be slated to finding room for things in the new apartment and going through junk that should have been thrown out back at the 'ol stomping grounds.
It's a big change for me, moving to a new city, interacting with strange situations. The place I've moved to is located in a port city, which means it does a lot of immigration processing. There are hundreds of thousands of people here from every walk of life and culture. It's a little difficult to know when to keep your head down to avoid stepping on anyone's moral toes. You never know what might offend someone. Back where I used to live, there wasn't as much call for decorum. People pretty much acted how they felt and that was it. Tough beans if you had an issue with that, and I was pretty much caste from the same cloth.
Now I have to break a lifetime of habits just to keep my skin attached xd .
It can be aggravating at times but it's so much more worth it in the end. The soil is a bit rocky but I can grow here. I don't have any ultimate goals in mind. I just moved to help a friend get through her university years. With a fairly stable financial income we might be able to manage a house after we've matured a bit more. I have to say I'm a bit anxious to think how THAT might turn out. The point of the matter, however, is that there are more opportunities for me here. I can expand upon what I already know with a much broader scope (if I ever have the free time xd )
On an unrelated note, I'll be teking some things for the winter rush and hopefully I'll have the new shop up and running by then.
Hopefully.
