alrighty, so here's my intro to my new fanfic:
"Still no suspects, sir?"
"I'm working on it."
"We look forward to hearing from you."
"Yes. Oh, and also... I have a friend flying in from America; could you meet her at the airport and give her this number? I'll send the flight details to you."
"Of course, sir."
"Thank you. Good bye."
An old friend. L slowly stood up and walked over to the rain-spattered window. The sky was an ominous gray. Little to no light filtered inbetween the dark clouds.
It had been raining nonstop for almost a week now; L would've thought of it as a sign, had he not known better. He didn't beleive such ridiculous things.
This case was one of the most complicated ones yet, but L had confidence. This 'Kira' wasn't perfect; far from it. He had to have a blind spot, and L was positive he could find it.
Not alone, though. He needed help. The police were already co-operating, but they're intelect wasn't as great as his, and that's what he needed. Someone who was cunning and not afraid to bloody their own hands.
Kind of like his opponent.
His phone rang.
He flipped it open and held it up to his ear.
"Hello?"
"L? Geez, I haven't heard from you in awhile... Anyway, it's Leilani. I'm here."
"Room 102."
With nothing more to say, he hung up.
