No offense to Robert Downey Jr. He's a great actor, smart, good looking, and I admire him.
But seriously! Him playing Sherlock Holmes? In an action movie version of the great detective?
No, just no. PLEASE no. On both accounts. Modern action movies and Holmes do not fit together.
And Watson isn't supposed to be sexy, dammit!
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is rolling in his grave and so is the only consulting detective the world has ever known.
The very idea makes me sad and very angry, as a devout Sherlockian.
It just is wrong on so many levels!
