Prelude to Mystery
The recently-discovered journal of a detective.
Day First...
I arrived today at my destination after a monotonous 3-day journey by bus and train. It was both a relief and a physical challenge to depart the bus into town and stretch before retrieving my bags. The driver saluted me cheerily before setting off on his route. I looked around the bright, colorful town square, breathing in the sweet, fresh air with curiosity. How could such a heinous crime have been committed in this amiable setting?
