So like many HP fans, I spend eight hours yesterday, waiting in a line to see the newest film at midnight last night. At three when the movie was over i had some mixed opinions. It was good, no doubt, better than most of the other films for sure. Actually I thought the film was amazing, with the exception of the very end *spoiler* from when Dumbledore died on, the movie went downhill*spoiler*. So here's what i did and did not like about the film.
What I DID like:
1. It was amazingly funny! I was laughing the entire film.
2. Alan Rickman was AMAZING in this film. The best anyone has ever seen the potions master. I really applaud his performance.
3. When Harry takes the luck drug. Funniest thing i have ever seen in my life. It was like wizzard on drugs.Nuff said.
4.The stuff with Draco and Snape leading up to the end of the film was very well done.
5. Even though the Harry ginny relationship wasn't done the same way as the book, they made it will well in other parts of the story.
6. The upcoming Ron/Hermione relationship was well established.
7. Even though i really don't like the newer Dumbledore, he was much better in this film. More like the original good humored soft spoken guy that he was supposed to be instead of the angry angry man he's been in the past three films.
8. The other teachers that you haven't seen much in the past few movies, got better parts in this one, especially McGonagall, which is amazing cause she is bad a**!
What i DIDN'T like:
1. BARELY ANY TONKS AND REMUS!!!!!! There was supposed to be a whole bit about them being together, not being together, and the two of them were in the movie for all of three seconds! Which you can only imagine pissed off a huge Remus/Tonks fan like myself. I swear if they blow off them getting together and having Teddy in the next two films, I'll blow my top!
2. No mention of Bill and Fleur. Which means that they gotta blow off the wedding scene in the next book or pull the entire thing out of thin air. One or the other.
3. No Dumbledore funeral. Some many important things happened in that scene and it just wasn't there.
4. Harry and Ginny didn't break up. Don't get me wrong love this couple, but them breaking up was a big part in the last book.
5. Burning the Burrow=random and pointless. Nuff said.
6. They put that stupid warewolf dude in the movie, basically for no reason. Obviously he didn't bite Bill (since there was no Bill) they didn't even tell you he was a warewolf. He was just a dude with scary teeth.
7. There was no fight at the school. The bad dudes came in, killed Dumbledore, smashed some windows and left, kinda uneventful.
8. Overall left too many plot holes. In my opinion if hey wanna make the last book into two films, they need all the story they can get, and they left too much out of this one (ie. Bill and Fleur's wedding) so they're gonna have a lot to make up for next movie.
SO there you have it. All in all, amazing movie with a really sucky ending.
-Go see it.
P.S. If you ;listen to Dumbledore's dialogue you can tell why they made him gay.
