Do you know what it means? Probably not, but I do; and it for one pisses me off when someone uses it in the wrong format. And no its not just some thing emo kids use, but sadly it was been reduce to that. Here is my random wisdom for the day. Back in the 80's when "Hardcore" underground bands still sounded like punk rock, would put "X" in their name showing they wouldn't desire getting a record deal and becoming a popular radio band, staying pure to their fans. For us youngsters here are some heir fans would take on this and change up a bit, placing black "X's" on top of their hands identifying to other under ground groups that they were "Straight Edge" and did not desire their drugs nor alcohol, also informing bar tenders that they were under age, and kept this route up even when they became of age. In general it stand for Straight Edge. If you don't alreay know straight edge are people who don't drink, smoke, do drugs, have sex (still a virgin) nor is obsessed with religion. So judge without knowing the story behind a name.
