this is a poem i wrote for my dad

Dancing with the dead

the blackness is always in my soul
the gray clouds are floating in my eyes
the darkness eats me whole
as i cry inside my mind

I'm fallen, I'm fallen apart
but you don't know
do you know what you've done to me,
no, you don't know

in my dreams, i could see us together
together forever
you and me, but in my dreams i always see
you and me dancing with the dead

your ghost like figure holding me
I'm cryin', I'm dyin'
but i saw you again
you try to reach out and grab me, but you go right through me
don't care what all those people said
but in my dreams, just you and me, i see us dancing on your grave, as we dance, hand in hand
we dance
hand in hand
as we dance
with the dead
