I Woke Up, Screaming My Hearts Out. It Was About 6:00 A.M Almost Time For School. My Brother, Jake, Who Has Red Hair And Green Eyes. He Was 5'11. He Bursts Into My Room, Carrying A Metal Bat Which He Had Used For Baseball.
" What The Hell Happened?! " Jake Asked Breathly Heavy.
I Looked At Him With My Motionness Eyes. I Didn't Answer His Question.
" Oh, Man... You Have To Stop Screaming. You're Killing Me. " He Sighed.
He Dropped His Bat On The Floor Where I Could Easily Trip Over It And Sat Down On The Corner Of My Bed.
" What Is It This Time? A Nightmare Or Something? " He Asked
" Nothing, Brother...Nothing At All... " I Said Softly.
He Sighed. He Got Off, Picked Up His Bat, And Headed To The Door. He Stopped With His Hand On The DoorKnob.
" Hey, If You Have Any Nightmares, Tell Me...." He Said Without Facing Me.
He Exit The Door And Closed It Very Softly. My Eyes Looked At The Ground With Saddness, No Love, And Depression. Why Did I Scream? Was I Doing It To Be Remind Me The Day Of My Parents' Death Or Something? Or Was I Just Screaming For No Reason? I Faced Forward Seeing The Mirror That Was In Front Of Me. I Looked At My Face, So Much Sorrow, Depression, And Saddness... I Couldn't Change My Self Back To The Happy, Smiling Self Anymore... Nothing Could Be Changed.
I Heard A Knock On My Door That Was Soft.
" Hey, Get Dress. School Is In 1 Hour... " Jake Sighed.
" Ok, Brother... " I Said
I Could Dressed In A Gray Skirt With A Black And Red T-Shirt. I Tied My Long And Silky Black Hair Into A Ponytail With A White Ribbon. I Headed To The Door And Exit Out. I Started Passing My Parents' Room And Then My Brother's As I Made My Way Downstairs. Even Though, Every Morning When My Parents Were Still Around, The House Used To Be Filled With Laugher, Now It Like A Graveyard. Jake And I Sat Quietly In The Dining Room, Eating Breakfeast. None Of Us Spoke A Word, We Just Sat Quietly, Eating. Jake Got Up, Took Our Plates To The Sink, And Washed.
" Hope You Have A Great Day At School, Yuu-Chan.." He Said.
I Was Very Surpised He Said A Word To Me Since Our Little Chat In My Bedroom.
" Thanks, You Too... " I Said Not Even Looking At Him.
After He Was Done, He Grabbed My Bag And His And Took Me To His Truck. He Started Driving To School Not Saying Anything To Me Or Even Looking At Me. His Eyes Were Focused To The Road. I Looked Out The Window And Notice It Was Raining. Nick Parked His Truck In The Students' Parking Lot. He And I Got Out And Started Walking To The Front Of The Gate When A Bunch Of Juniors Were Talking. Some Of Looked At Nick And Smiled.
" Yo, Jake, What's Up, Man? " One Of Boys Said.
Nick Stopped And Talked To The Boy And I Just Continued Walking. I Walked Where All Of My So-Called-Friends Were There Talking And Laughing. They Stared At Me In Disgust And Continued Talking. I Sat Near Them, Saying Nothing.
" Hey, Didn't We Say No Ugly Monsters Around? " Narissa Snapped.
The Girls Giggled Behind Her. I Looked At Her With My Sad Eyes. And Didn't Do Anything.
" Didn't You Heard Me? I Said Leave! " Narissa Snapped Again.
I Stood Up And Left. I Didn't Want To Waste Anytime With Them At All, So I Headed To The Classroom. Everyday, The Classrooms Are Opened When School Starts, But Nobody Bother To Come Except For Me Since I Don't Have Much To Do. I Entered To Math Class Which Mr. Haruno Teached.
" Ah...You Are Early As Ever. " Mr. Haruno Smiled.
He Was About 40, Married To My Babysitter, Ellen Lee, Had One Child About 3 Mouths Old. He Wore Glasses, Had Brown Hair, Was Very Nice.
" Well, I'm The Only One Who Bothers To Come Here..." I Said
" Well, While You're Here, See Our New Student, Mr. Blood. " Mr. H. Pointed To The Boy Looking At The Window.
I Nodded And Went Forward. He Had Pale Skin, Red Eyes, Black Hair, And Was Very Tall. He Got Up And Smiled A Friendly Creepy Grin.
" Hello, Miss Takashima, Mr. Haruno Told Me Much About You. " He Said As He Bowed.
" Er....Hi, Mr. Blood. Nice To Meet You. " I Said Shaking His Hand.
" Excuse Me....Miss Takashima, I Need To Refresh In The Bathroom. " He Said As He Exited And Headed To The Bathroom. Class Began About Five Minutes After He Left. Everyone Sat In Front, Still Talking And I Sat In The Back Since I Wasn't Familar With Anyone.
" Ok, Class Here's A New Student Of Mine, Say Hello To Allen Blood. " He Said As Allen Walked In.
Allen's Face Was More Firm And Serious. And I Could Feel Him Very Nervous And Scared. I Heard Narissa Talking About How Allen Looked Hot And Stuff. I Looked Away From Her And Focus Allen.
" Hi, I'm Allen Blood. Nice To Meet You All. " He Smiled A Friendly Creepy Grin At Everyone.
" Well, Sit Next To... " Mr. Haruno Looked Around For A Empty Seat And Pointed To The Seat Next To Me. Allen Grinned And Grabbed His Backpack And Quickly Appeared On The Seat. I Was Shocked. How Did He Get There So Fast? I Smiled At Him, Trying To Be Cool, And He Winked At Me. Class Went Long, Since Nobody Was Paying Attention To Mr. H Except Allen. His Bright Red Eyes Staring At The Board, Not Even Blinking. Mr, Haruno Sighed And Passed Out Worksheets.
" After You Are Done, Give It To Me And You May Go To P.E. " He Said As He Started To Type On His Computer.
I Started Working As Fast As I Could, So I Could Leave To P.E. I Peeked Over And Saw Allen Was Gone.
" Hey...That's Wrong..." Someone Said From Behind Me.
I Straighted Up. Allen Leaned Over To The Right Side To Tell Me It's Him. He Quickly Took My Pencil And Began To Write The Answers For Me. He Took My Paper And Gave It To My Teacher. He Quickly Grabbed My Stuff And Forced Me Out. He Gave My Stuff Back And Stood There Facing Me. I Started Walking To P.E And He Followed Me. I Felt Really Scared Around Him...So I Started Running And Went In The Girls' Changing Room. I Grabbed My Clothes And Changed. I Untied The Ribbon In My Hair And Exited Out. Of Course, Allen Waited For Me Outisde, Leaning On A Wall.
" Hi Allen... " I Said Trying To Be Cool.
" Hey, Sorry I Scared You Back There. I Didn't Mean It, I'm Just A Tad Protective.
" A Tad? " I Said.
His Eyes Narrowed And His Face Was Hard.
" What? You Aren't A Tad Protective, You Are More Protective Then My Brother. " I Said Scared.
His Face Turned Back To The Cheerful And Happy. It Creeped Me Out A Lot. His Bright Red Eyes Shining, Blinding Me. We Started Dodgeball For P.E. Why Did It Had To Be Dodgeball?! I Sucked At This So Much. Luckly, I Finally Got To Chose. Chad, A Blonde, Tall, Best Football Player, Chose All The Boys Except Allen. Now It Would Be A Horrible War, Since The Boys He Chose Was The Best Football Players And The Girls Left With Me Were The Team For Baseball. I Sighed, And We Began The Game. A Lot Of The Girls Did Not Surived, They Were Great, But The Boys Was Harsh. I Got Out. Now It's Up To Allen To Finish This.
We Were Behind The Boys Waiting For The Balls To Come. Allen, With His Hands In His Pockets, Dodging The Balls, Coming Fast. Allen Took His Hands Out And Grabs The Balls, Looking Very Angry And Annoyed, Threw Them Very Hard At The Boys, Some Were Screaming, Others Being Brave And Trying To Catch Them And Dodge Them. Luckly, Allen Won The Game, But Not Looking Proud At All. Girls Running To The Lockers And Getting Dressed To Gradute Allen For His Hardwork. I Smiled At Allen, But His Face Wasn't A Least Proud Of Himself. I Walked Up To Him.
" Great Job, Allen. " I Said.
" Thanks, It Was Easy For Me. " He Said As He Winked At Me.
The Bell Rang Which Meant School Was Over. I Looked Behind Allen, Seeing My Brother Leaning On The Wall With A Hard Face. I Ran Forward To My Brother. I Went In Front Of My Brother.
" Wait In The Car, Yuu. " Jake Said Handing Me The Keys And Walking Toward Allen.
I Went Inside The Car And Waiting For My Brother. My Bangs Covering My Eyes, Waiting To Cry. My Brother Knocked On The Back Window And Went To Sit In The Driver's Seat. He Got The Car Started And His Hands On The Wheel.
" I Don't Want You Hanging Out With That Boy...." Jake Said Without Looking At Me.
My Eyes Widen With Shock. Jake Looked In Rear Side Mirror And Our Eyes Met. His Face Was Hard. My Hands Turned Into Fists And My Teeth Biting My Lip.
" What Did You Do To--" I Said About To Finish.
" Doesn't Matter. I Just Don't Want You To Hang Out With Him. He's Trouble, I Can Smell It. Do You Understand!? " He Snapped At Me.
I Wanted To Yell At Him, But I Couldn't. Nothing Could Come Out My Mouth. I Opened The Door And Took My Backpack With Me.
" I'm Walking Home..." I Said As I Started To Head For The Woods.
" Come Back Here, Yuu! You Will Not Go In There! " He Snapped And Pointed At The Car.
" Watch Me! " I Said As I Turned Around And Ran In The Woods.
Jake Just Stood There, Face Hard And Angry. His Hands In Fists. His Eyes With Fire. He Started Growling As I Went Deeper In The Forest. I Started Crying As I Ran. I Started Slowing Down And Sat On The Ground, Crying. I Heard Thunder, Which Startled Me. I Looked Up At The Cloud And Rain Started Falling. The Rain Became Harder Which My Hair, Clothes, And Face To Be Very Wet. I Just Sat There, Feeling The Wet And Muddy Mud On My Hands. I Knew My Brother Left By Now, So I Laid On The Mud Until I Fell Asleep. I Felt Like Someone Was Carrying Me. Their Warm Arms Around Me, But It Was Cold...
I Opened My Eyes Very Slowly, Seeing A Dark Figure Calling My Name. The Figure Shook Me Twice, Still Calling My Name.
" Yuu! Are You Okay!? Answer Me, Yuu! " The Dark Figure Said.
" Hey, Allen. Let Her Rest. " Another Black Figure Appears Behind Him.
" How Can I? Yuu, Wake Up, It's Me, Allen! " He Said.
I Knew It Was Allen. I Remember His Soft Voice Before. I Opened My Mouth To Speak.
" A...l.l...e..n? " I Barely Spoke.
" See, Edward? She Waking Up! " Allen Spoke With Excitement.
The Figure, Edward, With Brown Hair, Bright Red Eyes, Just Like Allen, And His Pale Skin Put His Hand On My Forehead.
" Looks Like She Has A Fever, Allen. " Edward Said.
Allen Eyes Widen And Put His Cheek On My Forehead Feeling The Heat. He Stoked My Cheek With His Hand And Frowned.
" Hey, Let's Give Her Some Rest. We Have To Go Hunting, Ok? " Edward Said.
Allen Nodded And Followed Edward Outside, Still Looking At Me. I Felt So Tired, But I Couldn't Go To Sleep. I Touched My Wet And Soggy Clothes. I Looked Beside Me, Finding A Kimono Next To Me. I Got Up And Grab The Clothes And Went To The Bathroom. I Got Undressed, Put A Towel Around My Body, And Sat Next To The Hot And Warm Bath Water. I Grabbed Some Water And Threw At My Face And Looked Up At The Ceiling. I Heard A Door Open And I Heard Edward And Allen Laughing. I Got Up, Changed Into The Kimono, Drained The Water, And Came Out.
" Miss Takashima, Are You Feeling Better? " Edward Said, Still Kind Of Laughing.
I Smiled And Nodded At Him. I Started Walking Outside On The Porch And Looking At The Path To The School. Allen Followed Me Outside And Staring At Me.
" You Want To Go Home? " Allen Asked.
I Looked At The Gray Clouds And Shook My Head. I Frowned And Could See A Picture Of My Brother, Smiling In My Head. Should I Go Back Or Stay Here? I Turned Around. Allen's Eyes Meeting Mine. He Noticed My Face Was Depressed And Sad. His Eyes Widen And His Mouth Opened To Speak.
" What Did My Brother Say To You? " I Asked.
He Looked At His Feet And Looked At Me.
" Something, But It's Nothing Bad-" He Said Nervously.
" Damn It, Allen! Tell Me The Truth! " I Yelled At Him.
He Was Standing There Scared, And Couldn't Say Anything. My Hands In Fist Waiting For His Answer. He Looked Away As Edward Came Outside. His Face Was Firm And His Face Turned Hard As He Looked At Allen.
" Did You Tell Her Yet? " Edward Asked.
" No, I Can't She Will Think I'm A Monster..." Allen Said.
Edward Sighed And Leaned On The Wall, Looking At Me.
" Yuu...We Both Have To Tell You Something. Go On, Allen. " He Said.
" Yuu-Chan, We're Vampires...I Know You Might Think We're...Mon-.." He Said.
" I Don't Care If You're Monsters....I Believe You. " I Smiled.
Allen's Frown Turned Into A Creepy Smile And Edward's Face Turned To Normal. We All Looked At Each Other, Still Smiling. I Guess...I Can't Doubt Them. I Truly Believe They Are Vampires, Even If Vampires Are Myths....
