It was a day without school and without much thought of homework and pencils and deadlines. We were all together in this old yellow bus and it was the first day that had really felt like summer in a long long time. We all sat by our friends and carried on with our own conversations while here and there contributing to everybody else's.
We couldn't wait to reach our destination. The city, gleaming and highlighted, fled past us and the smell of salt grew stronger in every breath. Our stomachs swirled in and out of excitement and anticipations. The water park would be fun, but would we look good in our bikinis? What would our secret crush look like without his shirt on? Would the boy in front of us with the thick curls notice that we were giggling about him and his pretty hair the whole time? Would the lines be too long? Would it be too hot? Would it end up being disappointing? Why the hell was my friend's cute brother wearing full jeans and a sweater? Who knows, but it would still be fun, he'd still be my crush, we were still dorks, we still weren't in school and he was still cute. Nothing else mattered.
Off the bus and into the day we threw off our clothes and the sun wrapped its arms around us and sank into our pores becoming a part of us. All day we beamed with it's energy and no one would leave unhappy or dry. The fullness of the day was to much to ever describe, but I can safely say that all my anxious frivolous questions were tossed to the wind on the first water slide.
