Hey readers! It's been a while, i'm about a 6th of a way through my exams so lately it's been studying at school and at home. I have barely enough time to do shopping (at least I can online shop hehe). At the moment I am still at the 'relaxed-not-bothered' stage but that is only because the exams we have done so far aren't as important as science and maths etc.
Overall though, my life has been pretty amazing. My dance (americans call it "prom" except not as fancy) is coming up As you may know, my dress is lemon yellow, chiffon with swarovski crystals coming from the right side of my waist. It is very simple but just how I wanted it. It is slim fitting with a lace up back with a slight flare but not obvious. I would post a photo of it but I want it to be a suprise.
Now on to the title. I finally watched a TV programme with the ever so talked about Gok Wan. For everyone who does not know him, he is the stylist and fashion guru who overuses the words 'gorgeous/fabulous'. Usually, I really dislike what stylists on TV pick out. Most of the clothes they show are either expensive or would only suit the person they model it on. Luckily, on the episode I watched, I was stunned by a beautiful DIY dress.
It's a bad image but I really love the white daisy shift dress. The dress itself was a plain M&S dress costing $89.50 and the daisies were from a fabric shop which were sewn on. Even the dress isn't majorly expensive I still can't gather enough money to afford it (i've been borrowing from my brother who does interest). Besides, I have seen plenty of dresses that look like that for a fraction of the price. I don't need an expensive one because either way I'll be sewing on daises. Hopefully, I'm going shopping with my mum soon.
What I love about this look, is that it is very sophisticated, sexy and simple. The daises make the dress look designer and worth thousands. The white tights and accessories make the outfit look fresh and summery. It reminds me something that Audrey Hepburn or Blair Waldorf would have worn. I would definately wear this casually with my hair up in a romantic, loose chignon and hairband.
I have already ordered the daisies off eBay and now to go hunting for the dress. When I have done, i'll be sure to post it.
