MY CAT HAS COME HOME!!!11!
OK, it's a long, real life related story but here's the gist of it:
My family has three cats, Pirate, Prince, and Shadow. Pirate is sort of my cat, he's black and white, and relatively tame. Prince is Shadow's brother, literally, and probably the smartest and bravest. Prince has short black hair. Shadow on the other hand... well, as my Mom puts it, Shadow is 'a sook, a coward, and a bully'. He has long black fur.
Shadow somehow escaped the house about a week ago. This is bad, because Shadow and the others are complete and utter indoor cats, and Shadow bolts at being called by name.
So for the past week, we've set up a havahard trap to catch him, but kept catching racoons. We thought he was dead or something, until I spotted him out the window at 4:30 AM.
A few days later, we set up my tent in the backyard, and Mom went to sleep in it. Shadow is the most attached to her, so she figured if he smelled her blankets he'd crawl in. I joined her in the tent, because it was cool, and it was my tent.
After falling asleep, I woke up later to the sound of Shadow crying out, and my Mom imitating him to lure him closer. It went something like this.
Shadow: Mew!
Mom: Mew!
Shadow: Myew, meow, mew!
Mom: Mew!
Shadow: Meow mew!
Mom: Mew!
Etc. Eventually, after circling the tent a few times, Shadow came in through the opening, and Mom lunged to grab him-
And missed, causing Shadow to bolt under the picnic table. So she continued the mewing until Shadow returned, she picked him up, and we took him inside.
So now Shadow's home! Hurray! This, by the way, is probably the third time Shadow's escaped, gotten lost, etc, although this the first time we weren't able to catch him in the trap.
