The following is a report made by me, taken from reliable resources like CDC.gov. I will try and cover as much as possible as well as updating this blog as much as possible to give you up-to-date information about this so called deadly virus.
According to the CDC, this is what Swine flu is:
Quote:
Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses that causes regular outbreaks in pigs. People do not normally get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen. Swine flu viruses have been reported to spread from person-to-person, but in the past, this transmission was limited and not sustained beyond three people.
Swine Flu and You
Now we know, the flu does mutate every season. That is why there is no real vaccine for it. This little bit of information should acknowledge you to why this 'swine flu' is being spread from swine to human and then human to human. The news was quick to mark this a pandemic, and I'm sure there's a reason behind their reasoning. However I believe they are acting too soon. They do not know how easy this is being spread from person to person, or how it is being spread. As of right now they have to use information about the past outbreaks as information that they are feeding to the public.
Should we be scared? Absolutely not. All you mothers that love to carry GermX on you, this would be the more appropriate time to use it. Make sure you hands are washed. And I don't mean running you hands under the faucet and then drying them. You should have some anti-bacterial soap by your bathroom sink. Lather your hands very well. getting in between your fingers as under your nails. If you don't have a Nail brush, just rub the edge of your nails onto the palm of your hands. Also Sing the 'Happy Birthday' song or 'old McDonald'. You can also count in 'Mississippi's from 1 to 20 seconds. This is how personal in hospitals wash their hands.
Another tip would be to clean the well used surfaces like the counters, computer keyboard and mouse, door knobs. Make sure your toilet is cleaned as well as all sinks and bathtubs. Vacuuming can help as well as making sure your air filters are changed. Also right now would not be a good time to travel in a crowd of people. Also do not touch any surfaces and then turn around and touch your face. If you go outside, come back in and change clothes. Make sure your clothes are washed and if you wash clothes, don't pile them up to your face. Make sure you also bathe after washing all clothes.
These tips should help you not only not get the flu but other sicknesses. And remember, the worst thing you can do is panic. A stressed body has a impaired immune system. This would increase your chance of infection by a lot.
All those tips are basic knowledge I thought I'd share. Now I'm going to brief on the current cases and where they are at.
