9/15 -- Endless
I promise you the moon.
...The sun...
...The stars...
He promised her everything, but she had only ever wanted one thing. Just one, something rarer, more precious and beautiful than anything else.
Your heart...your love.
...It has always been yours, is there even a need to ask?
...Yes, everyday, every minute.
I want to hear you say I love you.
I'll say it then. Everyday, every minute. I love you.
Really?
Yes.
Forever?
For as long as I am able.
...Is that forever?
Is anything forever?
I want our love to be...
...Then as you wish, it shall be forever.
Really?
Yes.
I love you.
Neither is quite sure who said the last line first or last or even ever, only that they both heard the words echo in their hearts and the feeling of one-ness never left them. This was their story. Their happily ever after.
::Like a fairytale, let our love be forever.::
8/15 -- Saturday Night
Sometimes, for very, very brief periods, he misses the Before. That is how he thinks of things, how he categorized them. Life Before Her, and Life After Her. When she is not home, out working hard in her guild and spreading her cause, and he was left at their apartment, by himself, he thinks of the Life Before Her. In his mouth he can taste the copper tang of blood and against his teeth he recalls the warm vibration of a vein pumping the blood in a maddened pace.
He remembers the thrill of the chase and the grim satifaction that filled him each time after he hunted. He was in love with the concept of death, of the thought of casuing death and constantly on the verge of it himself. He remembers the Life Before Her.
But then she sweeps into the room every night-- that glowing, tired smile beaming at him like a small sun -- and he falls in love all over again. He is more in love with her than he ever was courting Lady Death. He is more in love with Lady Life than he is willing to admit to anyone but her this Saturday night.
::There is so much more to live for now.::
Ende.
5/15 -- Smile
She doesn't know what she's smiling for, she only knows these smiles were meant not for herself. Surely there must be someone out there that these smiles are smiled for. There must be some reason she is who she is, eyes green, hair red, and heart tender.
When she saw him for the first time, when her eyes first laid sight on him, she knew, without a doubt, that he was why. And no matter how many days pass, how many months, how many years, she is still as sure as she was at that first moment that they were meant to be.
She is even more sure right now when his shy hand encompasses her smaller one and his drawn lips lift in a smile that was only ever smiled for her, before even he knew, before they had even met.
::They had always smiled for this moment.::
