Given in to Darkness
Travelling to other continents was never easy, and time-consuming. It took about a few days, but we made it to Sunset Town. The air here seemed to be...... different. Aoi could feel it too. (She had siphoned some of my Wind attributes) I wanted to get this search over with, so we went seperate ways.
I kept my Holy Shoulder Guard out because I knew from the wind that a battle was coming. I skidded to a halt near a building because I could smell it. The scent of the Sakura blossom. I couldn't really tell where it came from, until I felt a certain Aura. I looked up, and saw someone in purple and black. It was her. I'd found Melissa at last. I smiled and waved to her, but she didn't respond. A storm began to form around us. Her aura began to change to a dark purple when I used my Aura Sight.
She jumped down, her hair changing to a more greyish and lavender. She pulled what looked like a dagger from a ribbon on her leg. I tried to get her to change her mind, but it seemed the darkness had set in completely as she got ready to attack. I had no choice but to fight her off until I could get rid of that dagger. I had one last shot to prevent it. "REMEMBER THAT KISS!!" I yelled to her.
She stopped for a second.... but then she came at me. I had no choice but to battle. I stopped her dagger and avoided the first strike. I wanted to make my next move, but she tossed the weapon up and it vanished. Next thing I know, she had pulled out an evil sword and lunged at me. I stopped that too, but locked us in heated battle. She broke off from it and slammed her shoe into my stomach. That was so much power in one kick, it sent me flying into a wall 6 feet away. "Damn, a fake-out. How could I forget about that?!" I said, trying to get up.
She ran at full speed and knocked the Ocean Omega Sword out of my hand. It landed tip-first and stuck into the concrete. Her dagger appeared and she attacked again. I had no other option left. I threw a punch and blasted wind at her weapon. But she jumped high and knocked me down. She let out a battle cry as she brought the dagger down. My hands flared up as I grabbed her wrist and tried to repel the dagger. My arms also flared up with Aura as I struggled.
We heard footsteps coming our way. "Hey, Mat, guess who I... OH MY GOD!!"
Aoi had found us. We both looked and saw her, and Ana. She (Ana) charged up and blasted Mel with magic power. She had fallen over, and her dagger had then sampled her blood by cutting into her wrist. "Aah, Melissa!" I said, rushing to her side. I tried to help her up, but she jabbed her heel and pushed me back. She reached for the dagger, but I blasted another burst of wind and knocked it away. I wanted to stop this madness and get my precious, bubbly mermaid back from the dark.
"Melissa!"
"Huh? Who's there?!" Aoi said. We looked up and saw the one guy I wanted to smack down for betraying us, Lelouch the Phantom. His aura was the darkest one I've ever felt. He jumped down and lifted Mel into his arms. My arms flared up again. Aoi grabbed the Ocean Omega Sword and tossed it back to me. Lelouch tried to walk away, but I yelled out and stopped him. "Where do you think you're going!? We have a score to settle, Phantom!"
"Hmph, another time, boy."
He vanished, taking Mel with him. When they left, so did all traces of their aura. I couldn't tell where they had gone. It started to sprinkle a little as a tear fell from my eye. I ran off. Aoi and Ana followed me. I wanted to know where 'he' had taken her. Aoi tried to get me to stop, but I didn't want to give in. I was too frustrated to be with others, so I told them off. Aoi was now scared of me and slowly left with Ana. "Mat..... this isn't like you. I don't want to lose you too," she whispered to herself.
I finally broke down and stopped looking. If I had to fight her again in the state she was..... I would have to go all out. I looked up and saw the crescent moon. I then saw something else on the same building as before. It looked like I could see a lonely angel, who's heart had been jabbed with the filth that I wanted to destroy, the filth that was known as evil. I smiled a little. I knew she would still have light in her soul, even if completed swallowed into the dark abyss.
"If that's how it's supposed to be, then I too will turn away from the light of day and embrace darkness. I will plunge myself into the abyss, even if I have to give up my life to do it. Guess this means I will never hold a sword again and ascend to knighthood," I said, walking back to where Aoi and Ana were.
When I got there, they were sleeping. I placed my sword next to Aoi and gave her one final kiss as myself, giving all my light to her. Now I will only be active at night, dormant in the day, my light self forever asleep, never to change back until we are both delivered from the abyss to the world of light.
From now until Melissa is rescued, my chapters will take place only at night, when Mat the Werewolf becomes active.
