Liber Damnatus
General Commission Info for Damnatus
Name: Damnatus

Race: Human

Height: 6'3"

Weight: 164lbs

Physical Description: For a being with such a name, it doesn't come with much surprise that Damnatus possesses quite a grim appearance. His skin is pale, pulled taught over an athletic and muscular frame that has become atrophied. While his body is fairly well-built, standing at a solid 6’3” in height, a close look would reveal some deterioration - signs of malnutrition, lack of exercise and other health problems, which put his weight at a very emaciated 164lbs. Damnatus' body has seemingly been exposed to an incredible amount of abuse, being covered with an excessive amount of scar tissue and scabs. While some of them show the tell-tale sign of combat, such as bullet wounds and sword bites, others are of a wholly different sort, and would leave most scratching their head in confusion as to the nature of them. If one were to look onto his right palm, they would find a curious, archaic tatoo ( [x] ) carved directly into it. While it does not appear recent, the wound has not healed properly, and still appears somewhat raw.

His features could be best described as somewhat gaunt and pallid, giving him an emaciated appearance. Despite this, there was a sort of handsome quality about them – not pretty by any measure of the imagination, but not overly hard or harsh. He is clean shaven, and if it were not for the overall grimness about him, he could have been considered quite attractive. The color and look of his eyes are unknown, for his eyelids are permanently closed and sewn shut by wire. It is quite brutal, but it reveals that he is actually blind. Damnatus' hair is an unkempt mess that hangs down about his features. It is long by most standards, and hangs down to a point right above his shoulders. Strangely, it is colored a nearly-perfect white. While most would consider this kind of hair color exotic and attractive, there was something about it that makes it seem unnatural. Indeed, it didn't even look like it was artificially colored, but rather sickly, or the kind of hair color an elderly person would possess. The most horrific quality about him, though, are the dozens of mutations that riddle his entire body. Brought on by dabbling with the energies of the Warp, they range from minor patches of odd skin (fur, reptilian, etc.) to blinking eyes that loll to and fro before staring dead straight at someone to silent, screaming faces wrought out of skin to tumors and to withered arms, plus any others a twisted mind might imagine. At his current point in life, Damnatus would have been consumed by his Aethyric maladies if it were not for his ability to partially control how they come about, a skilled hand at brutal self-surgeries and his clothing, which entirely conceals (and straps down, in the case of his belts) mutations that simply refuse to be controlled or cut out.

Attire Description: Damnatus wears no armor, and his clothing is quite unusual. He wears a dark, bluish-grey tunic over his chest, as well as a pair of slacks about his legs of the same color. Both are somewhat loose and do not cling to his body very much, and are made out of linen. Worn over his tunic is an odd amalgamation of a trench coat and a robe. It is made out of black leather, and is buttoned up over his chest from the waist-up. It has a divided tail that sweeps down to his ankles. Upon his coat where his shoulders are is a set intricate patterns. Eldritch and esoteric in nature, they weave their way down the shoulders and to the cuffs of the sleeves, and are colored unlike the rest of Damnatus' somber appearance. The main weave of the pattern is colored a striking yellow, with the background patterns a subtle blue. The coat has a hood, which Damnatus generally keeps pulled up over his head. It doesn't obscure his features entirely, as the yellow drawstrings it used aren't pulled taught, though his eyelids and everything above them are shadowed. Covering both hands are a pair of simple, black leather gloves. Around his waist is a black leather belt that contains a peculiar-looking buckle ( [x] ). Several simple pouches are tied to the straps, which are used to carry money, small pieces of food and, most importantly, reagents/trinkets/etc. used in the casting of his Warp Sorcery. Buckled upon his feet is a pair of black leather boots, containing numerous leather straps that can be easily taken off and used for more important things.

As someone who has been traveling for a bit now, as well as possessing some of the same articles of clothing for some time, Damnatus' clothing has begun to experience the effects of wear and tear. The leather of his coat, gloves and boots have dulled over a period of time, and are looking more and more greyish in color. The tails of the coat have seen the worst of this, and are becoming quite ragged.

Personality: Driven – that one word best describes how Damnatus is. What was once a laid-back, casual and friendly human being who had a fear of being controlled changed into something far for the worse through several circumstances; circumstances that turned him into a calculating, manipulative individual who would see his plans through, no matter what, to the bitter end – the end always justifies the means, so to speak. Damnatus has become entirely embittered from these events and has become consumed on inflicting revenge upon those who have used him so much that it, and the powers he wields to see his goals through, have driven him mad, to the point where a once-normal mind has been irreparably damaged and possesses numerous psychoses. Paranoid and cruel doesn’t even come close to describing how far gone he is.

Despite being so cold, Damnatus rarely gets angry. With manipulative practices comes a great measure of patience, as many of his machinations take some time to come into fruition. When seen, he usually wears a façade of neutrality or one that is generally somber – all hatred and anger is kept in nigh-perfect check beneath a calm, slightly handsome exterior. Indeed, he is able to utilize his former personality to lace sincerity with his lies. It is entirely possible to see the fuel that propels the madman forward, though, but one must press the right buttons; manipulating him or threatening the scant few things he might have vestiges of care for are sure-fire ways to see just how far down a human being can go and how they too can become true monsters.

Weapon Details: Damnatus utilizes a Daemon Weapon known as Vicissitude, which is in the form of a b*****d sword. It is 45 inches in length, which comes to a bit above his waist in height. I have two references for how I see the sword being portrayed. The first is for everything past the actual blade - the cross guard, the hilt, pommel, etc. It can be found here: [x] The second is for the actual blade itself, as the blade in that picture is too fat/wide and doesn't have a daemonic face like this one (as it is a daemon weapon): [x] Now, it isn't as long as the weapon in that pic, as that is a great weapon, but the blade design is pretty close to what I imagine it being like.

Edit: A new picture has pretty much gotten the weapon down perfectly, and can be found here: [x] The proportions/size/hilt/etc. are perfect, and the only thing one could add to make it better would be eldritch designs on the blade and a leering, daemonic face coming out/formed from the steel of the blade itself.

Mutation Details: (Note: This is primarily for if you decide to draw the picture with any part of his body exposed, IE through torn clothing) Due to the nature of his primary ability, Warp Sorcery, Damnatus has been subject to countless mutations over the course of several years, corrupting his mind, body and soul horrifically. While it is hard to decipher the depth of how twisted his once-normal psyche was, if one were to take a single look at his body, it would become quite obvious as to why he wears such obscuring clothing.

Damnatus' body is covered in mutations, remnants of them and scars of all sorts - all of them being hideous. Eyes, patches of odd skin/fur, tumors, leering/screaming but silent mouths, warped flesh, spikes/horns, withered limbs (with their own mutations) and a host of other horrors. Many mutations have been cut, sawed, gouged, slashed and burnt off, but quite a few still remain, either due to the fact that removing too many at a time would kill Damnatus or that he simply isn't aware of it at the time. Skilled Warp Sorcerers can control these gifts from Tzeentch to some extent, forcing them to take a particular form or in a particular area, which is helpful in avoiding mutations around the face or other hard-to-hide areas.
