I love my hometown.
At the moment, I'm still living at my dad's - on the bleak desert that is the other bank of the river, hehe - but every other day I get to come to Lisbon to take care of various matters.
Today was one such day. My dad had just dropped me off at my mum's and from there I had to take the subway to Sete Rios. As I was approaching the platform, I could hear that the subway was already there picking up passengers and so I started running to get to it on time. I was close to the last door on the last carriage, but then the warning that the doors were closing rang and I knew I wasn't going to make it.
Do you know what happened then?
The driver held off the closing of the doors so that I could board. This felt so much like a "welcome home" from my city that I was grinning like an idiot for the whole trip.
(Stupid, I know, but it left me so inexplicably happy... ^^)
Ah... Lisboa, Lissabona, Olissipo... I heart you.
