Narrow mindedness
Too many people are narrow minded and judgemental. This appears in the forms of stereotypical gossip and foolish xenophobia. Why are people so pathetically desperate to fit in with some group in society, whether it be the society itself or a subculture or simply a group of people. It is derived from egoism, egotism, culture, and primarilly from a defensive trait. Before we became so dependant upon the help of technology and over population making use the most abundant species (not the top of the food chain by the way) humans like all animals had to face problems to survive. To help, humans like most animals learned not to go near what they didn't know and develop reason to fear it out of protection of themselves. This incorporated with human cureosity has lead to groups and subcultures being formed in society whuich causes suspicion, egotistical pride, and seclusion to develop. This has been seen throughout history and throughout the world, unequal rights, people abusing others, and fights occuring. To comprehend how prominent this is you must realise that all wars are in essence caused by this, for there must be some level of hatred to invade another country for land or rights or any reasons instead of forming negotiations which would'nt work anyway because of the mistrust of the other nation. on small scall it is seen daily, but most people don't notice much of it, even if they cause it also. The level of lethargic apathy is disgusting among itself but the fact that nothing is being done on any large scales or even small scales shows how degraded humanity and society has become. In this current state we live in as humans as a whole, we have no use for such narrow mindedness, and if anything disturbs this state we will thrive off this old trait making scapegoats of everyone. We are animals, no better, if anything we are worse for thinking we are better and thinking we could live without those primal animalistic behaviors. Once again, we are merely the animal classified as human, nothing more.
