Preface
Year 2123
Today, I narrowly avoided the Ereco; I was, again, trying to save Earth from total destruction. If only, 123 years ago, we were better prepared against intergalactic wars; we could have been saved all this trouble. It all started when a lone Eree soldier appeared at the United States Capital Building.
Our state leaders and president paid no attention and ignored every chance or sign to save Earth. Months later, fleets of alien warships, with the species Eree, Kyrta, and Arte inhabiting them, showed up all over Earth.
Ereco, the Eree’s robot police force, were sent down to capture humanoids to work as slaves. Naturally, humans rebelled, but their efforts were futile against the alien strength. Amelia, my best friend, and I live in hiding on the outskirts of San Francisco, an Eree inhabited city.
Many metropolises in the U.S. are now known only to aliens. Eree, the leaders of the forces attacking Earth, have taken this planet as their own. Returia, the Erees’ home planet, died 30,000 years ago, leaving them starving and their population decreasing. They set off into space, desperately searching for another host planet.
Eree are quite small creatures, only touching human evolution. Their stature is very short and they are highly fragile; having to wear protective body plates to shield their bodies. They can barely walk and have developed wispy tendrils that are attached to the back that help them stay upright.
Though their size is highly inconsequential, Eree military tactics are not. From the moment they touched human soil they had a strategy: Kill all who oppose them and enslave al the rest. The actual Eree population at the time was only 4,000, but under extreme circumstances they managed to create an army.
Ereeian Empress, Glodia, had several connection throughout the galaxy. She made few stops on her journey and the first was at Returia’s sister planet Artenia. In Artenia she recruited every adult and child that there was. Joining the escapade, Artenia’s High Ruler was Glodia’s brother, Odial. Now united with over a million plus soldiers, Glodia made one last and very important stop.
Kartos, a planet in a western galaxy, is or rather was, home to 4.3 billion residents, and the family team took them all. Another addition to the team was Kartos’ Rulers, Stetala and Pristia. Also known as Father and Mother to Odial and Glodia.
With a combined mass of over 44 billion willing soldiers, they set off in a race to find a weak and resourceful planet.
All this happened 123 years ago and still to this day humans remain. Most are slaves, working to receive nothing but food and a chance to see their loved ones. Others, like Amy and I, are fugitives, living quietly among the extraterrestrial rulers.
