Felicity just woke up and sleepily slumped down the stairs. She noticed no one was home so she decided to make breakfast for herself. While eating her cereal half awake the doorbell rang. When Felicity opened the door there was a guy about her age maybe a little bit older. He had a wicked grin on his face. He pulled her out of the house and into the van that was parked in the driveway. “Don’t say a word!” he said as he got a roll of tape out and taped her mouth shut then got some rope and tied her wrists together. There came muffled noise from Felicity’s mouth.
“Comfortable Felicity?”asked the driver as he started the van. She looked up to see none the less her worst enemy Jacob. She struggled as someone else was in front of her trying to calm her down.
“Felicity! Calm down! We aren’t going to hurt you.”said the stranger then he laughed. “Much.” Felicity yelled but there was no use. She was imprisoned. “Just calm down and we will think of returning you.”said the stranger flipping his hood down to show his face.
“Kevin!”she exclaimed in a muffled voice. Kevin caught a glimpse of Felicity’s necklace she was wearing and tore it off.
“What do we have here?”he said with the necklace in his hands inspecting it.
“What’s that you have Kev?”asked Jacob looking back.
“Just a necklace Felicity had.” He looked at it again then turned it over. On the back it said ‘Your guardian angel Nina.’ “A guardian angel is it? Well she wont help you here Felicity. Your ours now.”said Kevin with a laugh. Felicity struggled to get anything out. She couldn’t even get a breath in nor out. Her face was turning bright red when Kevin finally took the tape off her mouth.
“I hate you guys!”she screamed.
“We know.”said Jacob.
“Why me guys? What have I done to make you so mad?”Felicity asked.
“Your kidding right?”said Kevin looking down on her. “Do you remember the slightest things you have done?”
“Oh. Well guys come on. You guys are my best friends. Well except for you Jacob. But Kevin why would you get into helping Jacob do this?”asked Felicity half confused.
“Because he is my friend and I can decide on my own!”said Kevin looking out the window then smiling. The van slowly stopped at a three story mansion. “Welcome to your new home Felicity.”said Kevin with a laugh. An evil laugh.
“No this isn’t my home and I am not staying here with you guys!”screamed Felicity as she struggled against Kevin’s grip. “Let me go Kev!”
“Ah, ah, ahh! Just wait. You have to see the whole house first. Plus we cant trust you.” Jacob broke in closing the driver’s side door. “Ready to see it Felic?”
“Never I will never stay with you!”she kept on protesting.
“Tsk, tsk. You silly little girl.” Jacob said before pushing her ahead of him and Kevin . “Of course you are! And there is no way of getting out of here.”screamed Jacob. Kevin helped her back up. But Jacob sent her down to the floor again. “Jake stop it! She can have some help for god sake! Here let me help you.” Kevin said as he held his hand out to her.
“Thanks Kevin.” Felicity sneered towards Jacob to only get kicked in the back of the leg.
“Jacob! Stop hurting her. She’s not our slave. She is part of the family now.”said Kevin still hold Felicity’s hand. He quickly let go and shoved his hands in his pockets.
“She isn’t part of the family yet! Not until she meets the parents.”
“I have to meet your parents? Why?”
“Because they want to make sure you are okay to live here. Not a bad influence to Jake.”explained Kevin.
“Could you stop calling me Jake! God my name isn’t Jake it is Jacob.” Then he mumbled. “Jacob Jake Johnston.” Felicity coughed out a laugh. Good that neither Kevin nor Jacob could hear it. “Let’s just get to her room!”
“Come on Felicity right this way.”conducted Kevin. He still had his hands in his pockets. Felicity was thinking to herself: Do I like Kevin? No he kidnaped me! I cant but look at those big brown eyes. And he has the perfect hair. And- Her thoughts were interrupted when a door opened.
“Here we are.”said Jacob before he pushed Felicity in, knocking her to the ground. “God I really hate him.”she muttered to herself.
“Heard that Felic! Oh and before we leave you.” Jacob entered the room turned on a light blinding Felicity and untied her hands. Then he rummaged through his jacket for something. “You will feel some pain but only for a second okay? So don’t scream!”
“Fine. I wont.”said Felicity looking at his hand. Jacob hoisted Felicity up by her shoulder.
“Wait what is it?”Felicity asked before he did something.
“Just a tracking device. In case you leave. Oh no let me rephrase that try to leave. Can I get it in now?”
“Just do it fast Jacob.”Felicity said closing her eyes. Jacob got the device and jammed it into Felicity’s shoulder. Felicity jumped with a yelp.
“I told you not to scream! Plus we could have done it much more painfully. But this was easier.”explained Jacob walking out the door. “Oh and we are having supper tonight with our parents. Well obviously not yours.”
“What am I to wear? I have nothing but these.”Felicity said pointing down at her pajamas.
“We have clothes for you. Just open these drawers. And there is a bathroom. We will buzz up when you should get ready.”explained Kevin. Oh and your favorite color is blue right?”
“Yes, why?”Felicity asked trying to ignore the pain in her shoulder.
“Here is your dress for tonight.”said Kevin pulling it out in front of him.
“Do I have to wear it?”asked Felicity uncertain.
“Yes. You have to look nice for this. So that our parents can say we can keep you here. Please Felicity we aren’t going to hurt you. Well I’m not. I don’t know about Jake.”
“Stop calling me Jake! My name is Jacob!”screamed Jacob out of nowhere.
“Fine I’ll wear it. But I wont like it!”
“You don’t have to. Oh and try not to wander around. He will be mad if you wander too much. Doesn’t want you hearing everything.”said Kevin.
“Like what? You guys aren’t going to hurt me are you?”asked Felicity scared..
“No we would never do that. Not too drastically.”
“What are you guys going to do with me then!”screamed Felicity. But she was too late. Kevin had already left her to her dress and the bathroom.
“Hurry up Felicity they’ll be here soon!”he yelled from the hall. “I will be right across the hall if you need me!”
“Okay Kev!”Felicity yelled as she went into the bathroom to get ready. About half an hour later Kevin knocked on the door again. “Felicity you ready?”asked Kevin.
“Just one moment Kevin!”she yelled from the bathroom. She opened the door to see Kevin in a tux. She felt sort of weird seeing him like that. He probably felt the same way. He had this weird smile on his face. “Kevin why are you smiling like that? Is there something wrong?”
“No. You just look so beautiful tonight.”said Kevin looking into Felicity’s eyes. Felicity began to blush. “You okay Felicity? Your getting red.”Kevin teased.
“Very funny Kevin! Come on lets just go. The faster we go there the faster I can get this over with.”
“On the contrary,”said Jacob coming out of nowhere. “You have to answer all questions and you have to be sincere to both of our parents.”
“Why do I have to meet your parents? They already know me Jacob. Plus I have never met Kevin’s parents. I have met your loads of times.”said Felicity looking at Jacob.
“Because. Now enough talking they’re here.”said Jacob taking Felicity’s hand while Kevin took her other. They made their way downstairs right as the door bell rang. Felicity recognized Jacob’s parents but not Kevin’s. They seemed nice. But then dinner began.
“So Felicity what made you want to live with our sons?”asked Mr. Kile, Kevin’s father.
“Oh well they have been my friends throughout our school days I just thought we should stay together as friends.”said Felicity straightening up. She knew she was going to have to lie to their parents because she obviously didn’t want to be here. Except for Kevin.
“I see.”said Mrs. Keen, Jacob’s mother. “Well you seem like a wonderful girl. What are some of your hobbies?”
“I love to be outdoors. I am really athletic and well natured. From my mother and father. And I also love making photo albums. I love remembering past moments.”
“Wow. How did you two find someone so nice and sincere?”asked Mrs. Kile
“Well I guess she came to us somehow.”said Jacob showing Felicity his smile no one could look away from.
“Heh yeah I just want to be here to keep our friendship together I guess. Would you please excuse me?”asked Felicity getting up slowly.
“Your excused.”said Kevin also getting up. Felicity ran out of the diningroom and towards the bathroom . But before she got in she got tripped. She looked back to see Jacob.
“What do you think you are doing Felicity?”asked Jacob smiling down at her.
“I have to use the bathroom.”
“Don’t lie to me Felicity! What were you going to do!”yelled Jacob.
“I have to go to the bathroom Jacob I wasn’t lying!”replied Felicity.
“Fine but if you don’t come back in five minutes I will come after you. I always know where you are Felic. Always.”
“Just go back I will be there soon!”she screamed. Felicity finally got into the bathroom and sank to her knees. She couldn’t stop crying until she heard a knock on the door. “Felicity are you okay in there?”came a voice.
“Kevin?”
“Felicity what’s wrong? Come out of there.”
“No Kev. I cant.”Felicity replied.
“Why not? Come on Felicity what’s wrong?”said Kevin opening the door.
“I cant stand it here. Jacob is a jerk to me and I just cant stand it! I need some way to get out of here.”
“Felicity you cant. Something horrible will happen if you try to leave. Please I don’t want anyone to get hurt.”
“Kevin if only you knew how hard it is right now for me! I cant stand this place right now! And I don’t know if I ever will. I’m sorry Kev but if your parents and Jacob’s parents say I can stay I am going to find a way out of here. I promise.”
“Felicity you cant please I don’t want anyone to get hurt. Especially you.”said Kevin leaning down and giving Felicity a hug.
“I know Kevin but it’s just,” Felicity sighed. “I don’t know. It feels like Jacob wants me as his slave not as his friend. And I don’t want to be treated that way.”
“I know Felic-”Kevin got cut off by a sharp sound only he could hear.
“What are you doing here Kevin?”asked Jacob from the doorway.
“I-I just wanted to make sure she was okay. She looked a little down when she left the diningroom.”
“Well then. Maybe we should get back to the diningroom. Are you okay Felicity?”Jacob asked.
“Y-yeah I’m fine. Just got overwhelmed I guess.”said Felicity getting up.
“Then lets get back our parents are worried. Come Felicity.”said Jacob directing her back to the diningroom while making the high pitched sound again. Before Jacob went back with Felicity he whispered something to Kevin.
“Stay away from her Kevin. She’s mine now. Your no use to me anymore.” Before Jacob left he slammed Kevin with his foot right in the face knocking him out. Then he shut the door and walked along the hall to return to the diningroom.
“Where’s Kevin?”Felicity asked Jacob quietly as they entered the room.
“Oh he had to use the bathroom. He should be back soon.” A hour went by and Kevin still wasn’t back. Felicity was getting worried and Jacob could see she was.
“Well we should be heading off. Have to get home and to bed. It was so wonderful to meet you Felicity.”said Mr. Keen.
“It was nice to meet you too. Hope you have a safe trip home.”said Felicity. “Jacob I’m worried about Kevin. It has been a hour and he isn’t back. You don’t think he got hurt or anything do you?”asked Felicity.
“No, no he probably just went to bed or something. Here lets go check.”said Jacob taking Felicity’s hand leading her up the stairs. The hallway was dark and cold when they got upstairs and only got colder down the hallway. “W-why is it so cold up here?”asked Felicity hugging herself.
“We like to keep the house nice and cool during the summer. The we heat up during the winter.”answered Jacob. “Well we should probably get to bed. Goodnight Felicity.”
“Night Jacob. See you in the morning.” During the night Felicity was tossing and turning. She had a nightmare she was being chased through the house by something. She didn’t know what. There was thunder and lighting outside. She got trapped in a corner. She looked up at the figure to see Jacob. Then behind him someone else was there. “Come closer. She needs to see what we have for her.” The shadow moved closer to reveal Kevin’s face. He had a smirk on his face but in a weird way to Felicity. She looked down at the ground to see an object shining in the light. Jacob picked it up and handed it to Kevin. When he brought the object up she saw it was a knife. “K-Kevin. Please Jacob don’t make him do this to me!”
“Sorry Felicity. He decided this not me.” Felicity woke up to a sound outside her room. She slowly got up and walked over to the door. Something was moving outside but she couldn’t recall from where she was. Felicity opened the door slowly and walked out. She knew she shouldn’t be outside her room but she wanted to explore a bit. “Hello? Is anyone there?”she asked. Felicity walked down the hall towards the corner of the hallway then stopped. She felt a shock in her shoulder as if someone grabbed her. But when she turned around there was no one there. She shrugged off the pain and turned back around surprised to see Kevin.
“What are you doing out her Felicity?”he asked sternly.
“Oh Kevin I was just well um I thought I heard something from my bedroom and I just wanted to know what it was.”Felicity answered quickly.
“Oh. Well then you should probably get to bed everything’s all right I was just getting to bed myself.”
“Kevin I can take care of myself. Im not a baby anymore. Please I want to explore this house. Go places I have never gone before. Please Kev.”begged Felicity.
“Felicity no. You are going to get hurt.”
“No I am not Kevin! I might as well just go rather than just standing here arguing with you.”
“Felicity! You cant. Please I don’t want you to get hurt. Or anyone else at that matter!” Felicity had to think about this long and hard.
“Aww come on Kevin. I am going to be living here from now on. Your going to have to trust me sooner or later.”
“I choose later.”said Kevin in return. Felicity finally acted. She swiftly ran around Kevin and tried to get down the hall but Kevin caught her in his arms. “Not so fast Felicity. You cant get by me. You never will. Now get to bed Felicity.”whispered Kevin into Felicity’s ear.
“Fine. I’ll just go throughout my life here wondering what are in these rooms in this huge house. Goodnight Kevin.” Felicity entered her room then started knocking her head on the door. She couldn’t believe she was fighting with Kevin. Especially about something so stupid. “Im so stupid.” She turned around to find Jacob in her room right behind her. She was flat up against the door. “Heh Jacob what are you doing here?”
“What were you doing out there?”Jacob asked.
“Oh I was awakened by a sound and I-I was just wondering what it was.”responded Felicity. Jacob looked around the room then he said: “This room is too old for you. Here come with me I’ll show you your new room.”said Jacob smiling towards the door.
“No. I’m fine here Jacob. It’s actually comfortable.”
“Oh but Felicity this room is surely to fit you. We made it for you. It is perfect. Come on.”
“But Jacob!”Felicity whined.
“One look and if you don’t like it you can come back here. Please at least see the room first.”
“Fine. I guess I can take a- wow!”exclaimed Felicity as Jacob turned the light on to the room.
“Like it don’t you? We thought you would. Go on walk around get used to it. We didn’t want to show you this till we knew you were really staying here. We’ve been working on it all summer.” Felicity stepped from the doorway a wandered around the room looking closely at the pictures on the wall.
“Why? How? Why did you guys do this for me when you were just being a huge jerk to me?”requested Felicity curiously.
“Well when we knew you thought of us as friends we just decided you should have a good time while here. Oh and that pain you felt earlier it was me. I’m sorry. I took the tracking device out. Sorry that it hurt. But it hurt when we had to get it in. And I’m sorry for being such a jerk.”
“It’s okay Jacob. I just thought to myself you never liked me as a friend. I guess everything has changed.”
“I always wanted to be your friend but all those guys near you I just felt too shy. I guess my shyness changed to aggression. I never did want to hurt you. And I dragged Kevin into this too.”returned Jacob.
“Jacob , Kevin probably forgives you he just is... different.”said Felicity.
“What do you mean by different? Nice, funny, smart? What do you mean Felicity?”questioned Jacob sitting down on the bed next to her.
“I guess he is just different. Not like you but nicer, calmer and I don’t know.”
“Well we are all changing Felicity, you never know when one of us could go crazy and just lose it in this house. One minute we could be your best friend the next who knows!”
“Nicely explained Jacob. Smooth. Well we should probably get to bed, it’s late.”said Felicity. Jacob nodded but before he left he kissed Felicity on the top of the head and wished her a goodnight. “I’ll see you in the morning Felic.” “What the?”Felicity asked after Jacob was gone.
