what do you think?
Just recently I finished a book recommended to me by my English teacher entitled “The Road”. This novel, written by Cormac McCarthy, was quite a moving piece of literature. The entire book took me on a journey in which I realized what is truly important to me: Living life in a way that will leave me without regret. Throughout the novel, these quotes really stood out to me: “You forget what you want to remember and you remember what you want to forget.” As I read this, I had to agree, we have to treasure and hold onto all of the good times in our life, because if we do not we will end up losing them. I do not want to forget all the amazing times I’ve had, and so this really spoke to me. “The frailty of everything revealed at last.” In this world, everything that we know and love is easily breakable. As I have grown up, I have come to realize this more and more. If the frailty in life is what makes us truly cherish it, then I want to see the world in a way that makes every day precious; every day a new chance to do things I want, to be with the people I want, and to enjoy the luxuries I have. I gained from this, the knowledge to be closer to the people that matter, and see the world for what it is: a fragile beauty.
