Edna: Lighten up Tilly. She doesn't mean it. She misses Jenny as much as the rest of us.
Tilly How can she be so flippant about it though?
Edna: We all deal with it in different ways. Shes found it hard since her brothers went away, being the only one left at home to look after her poor Mum. She puts on this front but underneath she's just as soft as the rest of us!
Vera: Work hard, play hard! That's Patsys motto. Ain't it Pat!
Patsy: Are you talking about me behind my back again? You old gosssip!
Vera:Well you shouldn't lead such a scandulous life then!
Patsy: We only have one life.
June: So we may as well live it to the full!
Vera: Are you al going to the dance at the village hall tonight?
Tilly: I'm not sure. It's over a three mile walk from my bilet and I did say I'd write home today. Mother would only worry.
Patsy: Come on Tilly! One more day without a letter won't hurt. There's not another dance until next week! What about the rest of you?
Ruby: Try and stop me! Any chance to wear something oter than these itchy shirts.
Edna: And these Breeches! I think mine would fall down if I didn't wear a belt.
Tilly: I've taken mine in, but their still terrible.
Vera: with all the extra rations we've been getting they might not be to big for much longer!
Patsy: 'Ere you cheeky minx! What with digging ditches, ploughing, milking and harvesting, we need them!
Ruby: All this talk of food is making me hungry. What have you got today June?
June: Bread and dripping. How about you?
Ruby: A bit of bread and cheese.
