Just a thought-2 We live roughly 18-19 years of our lives at school, where our parents mollycoddle us until we leave home, that could be an extra few years, but some have to make a living and find a job to pay board, but that is independence on the young adults part, the parents are merely teaching it and they have most probably been teaching it to their child at a young age, I believe a child that has been taught to do things for it self that young adult will have a better chance at life then the one that has had things done for them, and have never done a thing about it. Those people need independence after all the parents won't be there to hold their hand all the time.
