Why is it that the good dye young,
but the foul hearted live on?
Why does the universe find it right
to rid the world of one pure hearted, kind soul?
I'm not pure, yet here i remain
not wanting to live in a cruel world.
Dan did nothing wrong,
His heart showed many to be strong and to stand for one's self.
Dan was ill, i must admit,
but i would sacrifice anything to keep him alive.
The world is much darker
now that his light is extinguished.
He has touched many with his friendship and kindness
and that many sheds tears of unbearable sorrow for him.
It wasn't a suicide
Or even a car
It was the infectious disease in his back that paralyzed him
that forced him into living life in a wheelchair that took him
He held on for sixteen years, hoping,
That one day he could be cured and share the remady with others
But that day now is farther away than ever
Forcing us to make on unjust realization
The pure die young,
And the world continues on, not knowing what it lost.
