Spanish Speakers and After School
Hello again! so heres what happened to me today. So I TA for a kindergarten class and to day I had a new experience. There is this one little boy who is limited English and speaks only Spanish. Now with me, it's the other way around sweatdrop . So, he was a little confused with the directions of todays arts and crafts project, and since I'm still in the learning process of Spanish, I felt a little awkward. Then, I had a great idea idea blaugh idea . I went to my Spanish teacher and together, we made up a little cheat sheet that I could study so I know what to say for next time. (it has things like "glue this here" and "Color the whole page" and "Can I see your paper?" and "You can go play on the carpet now." {when the kids finish early, they play with toys on a carpet in the middle of the room. So cute 4laugh !}) It's so cool! So another thing that happened to me today was something called the After School Program. It's usually for kids who are missing credits (not me xp ), but they hold these enrichment classes that sound like a lot of fun, like making teddy bears in sewing and an art class and stuff like that. Today, I felt like a total freshman in there. First, the classroom with my age group was overfilled, so I had to go to a younger class. Like, four times, Kids kept asking me "Aren't you supposed to be in the older class?" and four times I had to tell them "They told me to come here!" Grrr! So annoying evil !!! So anyways. that was my day today. I'll have another entry soon. BYE!!! heart heart heart
