This song was essentially calling colonist gay.
A yankee, to the Britsh, meant someone who was dumb.
And a macaroni was a place wear young man would discuss fashion and dance with each other.
So a British guy got pissed off at colonist strolling into town acting like the s**t.
Wrote this little tavern song. Saying we were morons and that we were probably gonna go hang out at the macaroni.
And we didn't know what this meant, But we knew what a good ******** tune was.
