Today I woke up at 5:30AM and I was very thirsty. My ma was right, I should have had more to drink the night before, but I now know that for next time. My friend Kyo called me at around 5:35AM or so and we chatted for a few minutes, talking about how there was a spider and a lizard on her window. I made a joke about the lizard eating the peeping Tom spider and that's just what happened, the spider got eaten.
When I first got to the surgery center, I just sat in a chair and watched the news channel that was on the telly they had there. Anyways, they called my name and my ma and I went to fill out a bunch of paperwork and to make sure that all the info was correct. She paid the bill and my pa showed up for a few minutes. He asked if I had brushed my teeth, but I had been too busy talking to Kyo and getting changed into a pair of jeans, a T-shirt that I'd gotten from my school that was blue, and flippy flops to have bothered with my teeth. To my utmost amazement, my ma, who brings everything but the kitchen sink, had a brand new tooth brush and tooth paste so I had to go brush them pearly whites...that aren't so much white as an ever-so-slight yellow tinge color, which is probably from all that tea I drink. After all that was done, I went back to my chair in the waiting room that was filled with people now and watched more news on the telly.
A little while later, probably no more than ten minutes, I was called again, but this time, to be prepped for my surgery. They weighed me at 127lbs which is two pounds less than the last doctor had weighed me just Monday. Anyways, when I was done with that, they asked how tall I was and I said I'm about 5'5 or 5'6 so my ma who had come back with me because my pa went home to get some sleep, said I was more 5'6. They wanted a urine sample, but no, I'd gone to the bathroom before I came, so yeah. The nurse lady, who shall be called Shelly because I have a hard time remembering names, led me to chair room no. 4 where I sat down in the big comfy chair. Shelly took my blood pressure on my left arm and put the oxygen tester on the index finger of my right hand. I have a bad habit of not breathing sometimes 'cause I hold my breath for no reason so the oxygen reader beeped a few times until I took a deep breath and what-not. She asked if I need to use the bathroom, but I again said, "No, sorry. I blame her," and pointed to my ma who was sitting in a chair next to me. They both laughed and Shelly double checked the paperwork. I was given some clothes to change into, light blue and green pinstripe line plaid shirt that tied in the back and was about two inches from my knees and a light blue pair of scrub pants. When all that was done, Shelly came back and asked if I needed to use the bathroom before they put the IV in or else I'd have to go in with the IV, which wasn't really a problem, it just made the amount of walking I could do in a room limited. Of course, I still didn't have to go, oh joy.
Now here's the funny part: I despise syringes, so my reactions to the whole getting an IV stuck in my left hand were horrible. Shelly had just tied the rubber piece around my arm to make the veins in my left hand show up more when I first started to freak out. She started to laugh because she hadn't even wiped my hand with alcohol yet. When she was just about to put the numbing stuff in my hand via a needle, I pulled my arm back and spazzed, that is, until she said that it would be bad if I jerked back like that when she had the needle in me, so I pretty much had to calm down, at least some. So I felt a slight pinch and it was over. Not so bad, eh? I don't care, it's just the thought of a syringe that bothers me. So anyways, Shelly stuck the IV in my hand and it was over, no more needles. Yay! But she had the IV on pretty high 'cause they were trying to pump me full of liquids so they could get that darned sample. Once the bag was about a fourth gone, I finally went to the bathroom and they got their stupid sample. I went back to my room 4 chair and sat for about a minute until Fred, the only nurse whose name I remember, came and took me to the operating room. It was pretty white in there: white walls, white floor squares, white lights, some assorted silver equipment. My anesthesiologist, whom I call Amy, was already there and said hello to me as I was laying down on the operating table. Fred unfolded two table wings from the table I was on and put my arms on them, the left one so my hand would be closer to the IV bag I guess and the other one was probably for needles to go in my arm 'cause when I woke up later there were two needle hole there. Amy had me breathe in from the blue mask thing twice, but had me breathe in a few more times 'cause it didn't put me out right away. I think I took in about 3-5 breathes, more like 4-5 really, and I was out.
This was getting too long so I continued it in another journal entry!! I'm sorry that I get into so much detail, but my memory sucks, so if I forget about this, like I already am, I wanna be able to read this and remember what happened. I think I stopped at a good place too :3 Leave a comment to not only get gold, but to post your opinions :3 I like to read what my readers have to say :3 It makes me feel loved.
NOTE:: Sometimes I say "telly" in place of either TV or phone, but in this case it's the TV. Tilly is an ATM, but that's obviously not used in this journal entry. And those things are confusing D:
