Ripples Part 2
I am so sorry about the wait! I know, it's been, like, forever and six months since Part 1. x____X Anyway, here's Part 2...

Clark frowned slightly, blinking and rubbing his eyes. "What the..?" he mused when the colors did not fade. He looked back into the water of the pool. The water was no longer glowing, it wasn't pulsing. Maybe the water was poisoned? And perhaps he'd swallowed some of it? Yes, that must have been what had happened. But what about how it had shimmered and moved before he'd fallen into the pool? And why had someone pushed him in? Clark's frown became more prominent as he pondered these things. It was no longer raining as well. Perhaps he'd been out cold for a while? And...Gah! It was impossible! Clark looked around again, the purple sun hanging merrily in the sky. It wasn't very bright out due to the fact that the sun was purple, but it was light enough for him to notice something else that was horribly wrong. He had no shadow. Looking behind him, then in front of him, and under him, this confirmed it. The green-trunked trees around him all had shadows. The yellow scattered stones had shadows. Why didn't he? An impossible thought formed in his mind. But it didn't seem so impossible at the moment. "What if...?" Clark wondered aloud. He walked back to the pool. Kneeling beside it, he peered into the clear water. There was no reflection of his. But...there wasn't a bottom to the pool, either. The harder he looked through the crystal-clear water the more he could see on the other side. He saw...normally colored trees. And rocks. And there was a face peering back out at him. The sky on the other side of the pool was gray and dismal, and the image flickered with ripples. "What is going on here!?" he shouted to the other face, but it frowned and slid out of view. "No! Wait, come back!" Clark reached into the water, shouting desperately, but he knew it was no use. "Damn it!" He slammed his fist, frustrated, into the water, causing it to splash him and spill onto the blue grass beside him. He realized something. The water was a regular color. It wasn't brown or purple or orange. It was blue. Maybe this was a channel? That would explain the fact that it didn't have a rocky bottom like a regular pool. And the fact that Clark was in such a different place. He stared into the water longingly, weighing his options. He could jump back in the pool and see if he came out on the other side. And he could find that man who had looked back at him and ask him what was going on. But that man might have no idea. And that man might send him to the loony bin. Or he could be evil. He could be the person who had shoved him into the pool. And what if there was a creature in the water, waiting to strike? Clark sighed angrily. Or he could stay here and wait for someone to find him. But someone might not find him after all. And the food could be poisonous here, the opposite of what a person would eat in his own place. Or the people could be hostile towards him. Clark stood from the pool and paced back and forth, turning on the blue grass. He stopped and sighed again, looking back at the pool. "I'll try going home," he told himself aloud. "Yes. I'll go home. Well... Here goes." Clark knelt beside the pool once more. Being a rather skilled diver, he stretched his arms out in front of him, took a deep breath, and dove into the pool. The water started to glow around him once more and he opened his eyes, the liquid stinging his eyes. He unfolded his arms and kicked his legs, running his arms through the water in a graceful breast stroke. His air had just started to run out when his head surfaced again, and he swam to the shore, gasping for air. Clark started to look around hopefully, but his heart sank. He was still in the exotically colored place. "NO!" he screamed, punching the ground by the side of the pool. "This can't be! I want to go home!" Clark tried diving again and again, but he couldn't get to the other side of the pool. Admitting defeat, he crawled out and laid down on the grass, sopping wet. He closed eyes only for a moment, and yet then he fell asleep, his last thought that he'll wake up soon, and that this is only a dream. In the brush and strange vegetation around him, red eyes watched him curiously from the shadows.
