I like poetry. Sometimes I even write it. Here's an example of one, written for my father on Fathers day.

I am from my father; loving, caring and kind
From him, I was given life; something that’s truly mine

I am from my father’s love, a man who gives
To him, I give back love, care and forever a daughter of his

I am from a man who doesn’t like to give in
Of him, I get protection, a bed to sleep, and my brother; my Kin

I am from the love he shares with my mother, my brother, our dogs and me
If love could be measured in liquid form, ours would fill up more than a sea

I am from my father’s arms, warm, encouraging; a shoulder to cry on when tears flow
If asked if I would ever give up my family for something other; my reply would be no

I am from so many things, but today, it isn’t about me; it’s for my father
If asked why, I could only muster

to come up with this thing to say;
To my Daddy; Happy Father’s Day
