For the past week, I've been getting these dizzy spells. Not like when you stand up too quickly and the world swims or spins in like ten different directions, but it's been when I'm walking or sitting down. Derek, the worry wart he is, made an appointment for me this past Saturday with my eye doctor.
Well I went yesterday and after several very annoying tests (like squirting water or air in my eye and shooting lasers in them), my eye doctor came to the verdict that I'm eventually going to become completely color blind in one eye. I didn't even know that was possible. Then again, I didn't know you could be color blind to the color blue in one eye either... but I was born with that lovely little detail.
So my left eye, who is color blind to the color blue, will now be completely color blind. Which really really sucks. And I know God is screwing with me (like he always does) because he didn't make both eyes completely color blind, just one. And some of you may be like "well, wouldn't it be better to have just one eye color blind?" but it doesn't work like that. It's already weird enough when I look at something blue with both eyes open. Now it's going to be FREAKING weird looking at things with both eyes in the next couple years. I think this is karma for not going to church, but I can't be sure.
In the next several months my doctor is suggesting I go see him every month at least once to check up to see which colors I can see and which I can't. So far, it's still only blue, and I'm not dizzy anymore because I'm taking these pills the size of my big toe. Anyone ever heard of an aspiring writer who's color blind in one eye? Yeah, me either.
