Hold me til morning Love me right now Catch me, I'm falling She gave a small curious look to the male, then laughed a bit, "You're...odd," she dared to say. A small laugh was issued, "I didn't mean it in a mean way...I think, it's cute." In all truth, she knew a silver and black female wolf. It was probably one of the legendary wolves, why would such a famous wolf grace her legendary presence on Aaron though? Velvet headed down the hallway, thinking about what was going on, perhaps she would bring Aaron closer her world. Curiosity kill the cat...or rather wolf-lover.
He laughed a bit. "It pleases me that you say that, Velvet." He opened the door to his house. "Mom! I'm home." A woman of about thirty five years old came out of the kitchen wiping her hands on her apron. "Welcome home, Aaron, oh and who is this charming young lady, a girlfriend your father and I didn't know about?" "Mom...." Aaron's face turned red. I wish.... "This is Velvet, she's in my class."
Velvet smiled, "Hello, the name comes from my father's side," secretly she thought about him, wolves and their odd names. Then she thought of what her father and mother would say. She knew her mother would probably be alright with it, but her father would probably examine him for a while...testing him out. What kind of meat-boy deserved to be with his daughter. Then she noticed that she had thought about having Aaron meet her parents, now that was a bad case. It could never happen. "Strange names runs among the pa--family..." she stopped herself just in time. The young woman chuckled. "Oh dear, your name is not strange at all, I think Velvet is a beautiful name, my name is Sky. Its a pleasure to meet you." "Uh I'm going to run upstairs and get something real quick." He was a bit skeptical about leaving Velvet with his mother. "I've made something for Aaron to snack on, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind sharing, not with you at least." She smiled and led her to the kitchen table. "I remember he talked about you, just the other day." Sky...she hummed the name in her head, another unusual name for a human, but the next phrase interested her. "Really?" she gave a small laugh her eyes moving toward the direction that Aaron had left in, "I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. What'd he say?" Velvet was unsure if she should sit or not, she contented herself with standing near the table, listening to Aaron's mother speak. "You may sit, my dear." She smiled at her. "Oh its all good, he comments on how pretty you are, and how well you do in school, not to mention that he worries about you because he's noticed some of the other kids are rude to you." Aaron came down the stairs carrying a book.
"To be complimented by such a popular guy makes me happy...maybe they're just jealous," she joked a bit, for some reason the other girls seemed to pick her out as if they knew she were different from them. Her eyes traveled to Aaron, "Hm? What's that?" His interest in werewolves and wolves was uncanny, she wouldn't be surprised if it were some fable on her ancestors. He smiled. "It belonged to my grandmother, and my mother..." She smiled "I didn't know my son was popular, prehaps they are jealous, Velvet. Yes, it was a book written by my mother, she claimed it was written with a wolf by her side..." She put a plate of cookies before them and two glasses of milk. Aaron thanked his mother. "But not just any wolf...some people said she was crazy...that she'd lost her mind, a wolf that could turn human....it seemed nearly unbelievable, but she wrote this book." He handed it to her. "I thought maybe you would like to read it."
Velvet took the book into her hands gently, she didn't say a word. Aaron might have had some werewolf blood in him, she ran her fingers along the binding and cover as if she knew the book front and back, through and through. A bit suddenly she glanced around the room for a calendar, three days till the next full moon. "I might," it had taken her a while to answer, but she had, "can I borrow it?" Though, Velvet was unsure why she wanted to read the words in the book anyway, she knew most things about her ancestors...perhaps it could tell her more though.
Aaron smiled. "Sure you can...." He wanted add the but only if you'll go out with me Friday, but he knew better then that, he was not one to bargain, not even with his grandmother's prized book. Sky smiled. "I'll leave you two alone, to your cookies, and your discussion, maybe another day Aaron, you can show Velvet your room...." Aaron would have blushed if it hadn't been his mom that said that. He knew she didn't mean anything other parents might have meant about it. His room was actually more like a cave, but it was his own.
The full moon is on Saturday...Velvet reminded herself slowly, picking up a cookie and putting it to her lips. She gave a small glance toward him, "How about I show you one of the local packs on Friday?" then she stopped, "I'd probably have to bring you to my part-time job though..." Velvet trailed off to think about what the other werewolves would say if she brought Aaron along. Well, she wouldn't know until she tried...right? "It's a small time modeling job, so don't tell anyone." She placed her finger to her lips, in an our little secret kind of way.
He smiled. 'I'd love too...I didn't know you modeled, your so beautiful though, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise." he blushed darkly when he realized what he said....gosh he probably just sounded really stupid.
"Your mom told me, that you told her, I was pretty," she added onto his embarrassment with a smile watching his blush while eating the rest of her cookie. "Alright then, I'll take you with me. Then after we're done there we can go get something to eat and I'll show them to you," she felt attached to him already. Perhaps because he was considerably different from the rest of the students. He was also considerably different from the pack, neither of both parties liked the company of outsiders. Velvet felt strangely misplaced from time to time in between both parts of her life.
Aaron didn't think his face could get much darker. He did enjoy seeing her smiled though, her smile seemed to brighten his whole day. "So..uh...Velvet, are you an only child, or do you have brothers and sisters?" He shifted a bit in his chair.
"I'm an only child, why? Does my spoiled nature set you off?" She fingered the book a bit, flipping to the first page patiently waiting for an answer. Reading a bit slow, she looked up from the page.
"Of course not, I'm an only child." He chuckled a bit. "No, nothing about you could set me off." He smiled at her, watching her read the book.
She closed the book gently, checking her clock on her cellphone. It was about time to get back in, if the pack needed her assistance they'd appear at her doorstep rather than call her. "Oh, that reminds me, let me get your number...y'know just in case I feel like making up an excuse to call you." She handed him her phone to input his number in.
He chuckled. "You don't need to make up an excuse, Velvet, you can call me any time." He put his phone number in and handed it back to her. "Do get text, or do you like to talk more?"
"I'd rather talk, I'm not much of a...texting person." She stood, "So, is that offer to walk me home still there? I'd like the company." Velvet treated the book as a prized possession knowing that Aaron treasured it also, she wouldn't want to damage it in any way.
Aaron looked at her, he slipped his hand in her's. 'I make girls swoon, I always thought I looked like an idiot, and don't worry I will." He smiled. "Other talents...well I do draw, but I'm afraid its never very good..it never captures what I want it to.' She noticed, letting her hand slip from his a bit slowly, a bit hesitatingly, "It'll take a bit more to make me swoon," she commented lightly smirking, "but you're well on your way to it," if she were a normal girl, Velvet would have invited such an action, such a touch, but she was a werewolf-wolf mix. She could probe and tease, but she wouldn't cross the line...it was tempting though...far too tempting. After all, Velvet was more wolf trying to fit in with the humans, how could she stick to such a thing. When they reached her house she slowly frowned, there, lying in front of the steps watching her with curious eyes was a member from the wolf clan, looking like a lazy Siberian husky. The female stood, making her way to the both of them, as if the most casual thing and Velvet couldn't help but cringe.
He frowned a bit noticing she cringed. "Sorry I shouldn't have been so forward....that was rude of me." Stupid, you blew it...all you wanted to do was... "Nice house, but I see you have company." He gave her a small smile, though he felt like his heart was breaking inside just a little. "I'll...uh, see you tomorrow at school." He started to walk off. The female wolf licked Aaron's hand lightly before returning to Velvet's side, as if comforting him. Velvet blushed a bit, she knew she ws the cause of his disappointment...but it couldn't be helped. She watched his retreating back, then glanced at the wolf, Aaron worried her but if the clan healer came to see her in person, something was up. -x- "I feel so bad for the boy," the healer spoke once they were inside, "How cruel are you?" "You know very well that the pack can't be jeopardized, we can't have it going down just because I want to indulge," she retorted, placing the book gently on the coffee table. "Anyway, what's up?" "There's a new pack in town, they're threatening our territory, I came to warn you...they've been waging war for a while. Any new kids in your school...are probably werewolves from the other clan." Aaron patted the wolf before finally getting home. Once he got home he went upstairs to his room, he looked at the painting of Velvet he'd started....he turned it around and fell on his bed. Velvet sat in her chair, one of her early classes had Aaron there as well. She didn't even try to focus on the board, she was clearly dazed. A war...what an awesome time to have a war with another clan. She had to be more careful now, she had still put a chain on the gold pentagram, placing it about her neck, though she kept it secretly under her shirt. Something made her look up as the professor began talking, a shiver ran up her spine and her pencil rolled off her desk. Aaron looked over at her, she seemed preoccupied, he frowned a bit, worried. Since they were allowed to have cell phones and text during class as long as it wasn't answers to the test. 'Are you okay' he sent, he knew she'd have her cell phone on vibrate, as was the rule. Velvet nearly jumped when her phone made a musical tone, so that's what she forgot to do this morning. "I'm sorry," she smiled innocently, taking out her phone and setting it on vibrate before looking at the message. The professor gave her a harsh look but went back to the lecture. 'It's good, my visitor had a lot of info to give me. ^-^' as she pressed the send button the door to the room opened and a female with long dark hair...it seemed like a midnight blue, and light blue eyes entered the room. The chill ran up her spine again...werewolf. No human would have such an odd hair color...not even die could get it that way. "Hello, I'm the new transfer student, Xash," Velvet's heart nearly stopped when Xash looked directly at her. She gripped her phone as Xash moved up the rows of chairs. Picking up Velvet's pencil, she placed it on her desk, muttering lowly to her, "Let's see who's better." Aaron looked at the new girl....he felt a low growl in his throat for some strange reason he shook his head. He answered quickly. 'I'm sure she did. can I ask you something, Vel?' He had gotten a bad vibe from the new girl...he didn't know how he had, but he had The phone vibrated in her hand, it brought her breath back to her and she answered, 'Yeah, go ahead.' Pressing the send again, Velvet glanced at Xash who sat a few desks to her left diagonal. Xash gave a little wave back with her fingers, a sassy girl that only knew how to fight when there was a female. Though by her powerful features, Velvet could tell she came from a lineage of strong werewolves. A small bit out doubt clouded the back of her mind. He smiled a bit. 'Does the new girl give you bad vibes?' He looked over at the new girl, then quickly looked away, feeling that bad vibe growing even worse.Never let go Hold me til morning Love me right now
