It was early morning. Dew rested on the leaves of the trees and plants surrounding a small campsite. Emrys rested against a tree, keeping vigil over a sleeping Mia. Mia was sleeping in a tucked up sleeping bag, with her plushie, Neko-Chan by her side. Emrys looked back up to the sky as though peering through into the future. Then, a yawn broke him out of his concentration. "Emrys? You been up all night? What time is it?", she yawned.

"Its about 6:30 in the morning.", he replied. "You can sleep if you want, we're almost there now."

"Really?" she asked wide eyed, but then her expression changed and she shook her head. "No, Issac is counting on us to do our part. We have to continue on ASAP."

Emrys smiled. "I don't think he'd want you to exhaust yourself. Besides we're already in the forest."

Mia was surprised. "Really? I hadn't noticed."

"You really didn't think all I did was keep watch during the night, did you?" he grinned.

They both did. After a short breakfast, the forged on, deeper into the woodlands. Across shallow streams, fallen trees, and dark shadows, they proceeded with fierce determination. Eventually the came into Elf territory.

"What do you know about elves, Emrys.", she asked, clutching onto Neko-Chan.

"Enough to know not to screw around in front of them." he said. "Elves are very graceful creatures, and they consider it below them to make mistakes, or even converse with humans."

"So they're bigots?", she asked and Emrys stopped in front of her. Then he turned around with a grin and tipped his hat forward covering his eyes.

"Yes but don't say it in front of them."

"Too late.", said a voice.

They turned back and there were 18 arrows pointed towards them, all ready to be fired.

"Crap." said Emrys.
