The Journey of a Lifetime Chapter 1
There was a howl floating around on the wind one night. It was calling to others of its kind but there wasn’t any one to hear the sad howl let alone understand it. Although no one else heard, I still did. I didn’t know what the creature was saying but it sounded like a voice of a lonely creature with no friends. I knew how it felt to be lonely. After birth my family was ambushed and then killed. I was left alone in the world. My family tried to protect me but their efforts failed and my parents and my siblings all died. They were not killed instantly; they were killed by bleeding to death. I was wounded but not enough to die, so I lived. I wish I had died first so that I didn’t have to see my family falling to the ground dead. It was horrible to see my family fall down never to get up again. I saw them each die a painful death. I wish they would have just died that way they wouldn’t have had to suffer. I had to suffer a lot even before I was old enough to understand death. Anyway, I heard the howl and I felt the urge to follow where it was coming from. I wish I knew where it was coming from. If I did I could follow the sound and help the creature by giving some one to hang out with. I felt completely useless standing there not doing anything to help. I was just standing there wanting to help but knowing I couldn’t. I started to walk towards the direction the howl seemed to be coming from. The howl was coming from a short distance away. It would probably take me two days and nights to get to were the howl was coming from but I didn’t care. I felt like I needed to get to the one who was howling such a sad howl. So I started off on my two day long journey to find whoever had been howling. I didn’t know what I would go through, but as long as I help the one who had been howling I was ready for anything and nothing could get in my way. And so my journey began.
