As some of you may already know I went to Africa recently to see the animals so I figured I would show a few ^_^

This one was from when I went out in the evening to look for lions. Unless in a specific veachle or with a certain guild you aren't allowed out of camp after 6pm. Lions are one of the big 5 animals at the national park



The next one is the 2nd of the big 5; the elephant this one is just a baby but it can be dangerous to get between an elephant and its young ones. One way of telling their gender is by their poop. Male elephants pee a distence from their poop where as females just pee on their poopr. icky stuff.

The next was taken when I was on a walk in search of hippos. Not many crocodiles are seen on the river banks as most remain hidded in order to capture unsuspecting animals. Young crocs start out by eating tadpoles and only go for animals when older. However fish is the crocodiles main diet such as the catfish.



This pic is of two female giraffes. You can tell their gender by the thickness of the horns. These ones are quite thin and slightly curved. Thee were very common animals in the park.


These you'll know from the lion king as hyenas (my fave for some reason) they are nocternal and scavengers in this pic we have a mother and her young one ^_^



Heres a couple of osteriches. They taste nice biggrin the brown ones are female the black ones are male and are the fastest none flying birds biggrin



Now we have impala ( a type of antilope ) and some zebra. These are often also seen with wilderbeast for the siple fact that in larger numbers, they are more likely to spot predators such as lions. The male impala have the horns and will often fight over territory particulally when it comes to mating season and try to get as many females in their area as possible until a stronger male takes over. Female Zebras tend to have broader stripes around the rear than the male ones



Hippos need to stay in the water for most of the day. Because of their skin they get sunburned easily and lose water a lot faster than humans do. Hippos are the most dangerous of animals here and can run up to 40km per hour despite their size. In order to see the hippos I had to go on foot into the wilderness with a guide and an armed guard and was only allowed 2 hours to see as much as I could.



Baboons are realy smelly and become aggreeive when fed. The camp we stayed in had monkey problems. One of them stole my breakfast which may seem bad at first but you get over that quickly when you see them take next doors kettle and clothes xD





I ended up going out after dark in order to see some nocternal animals. It is pitch black by 6.30 there sometimes earlier since the sunset is very quick. We found this snake on the roadside. My mate totally freaked out at the sight of it.
