Mythrill Armor
This set just fails on the female avatar. The armor itself is excellently done artwise. However, it doesn't do much when it looks awkward on the female avatar. It looks great on the male avatar as a set. Though the cape doesn't fit well at all.. and the silver thing doesn't exactly look right on either avatar. The helmet doesn't look so great either. However, overall it's a pretty good first attempt at an armor set. At least I think.
Though it's difficult to match one of these many poses with anything else on the site.
Damascus Armor
Again... looks awkward on the female avatar. It looks decent on the male avatar, however this is another thing that is really hard to match with things other than itself. Which is a huge no no for an item. When this came out I was highly disappointed about it... since there was so much feedback on the first set. On the male avatar it's decent, and the helmet is better than the Mythrill but that doesn't save it as one of the bulky MCs that you need a set to look the best. Or at least items that are of the same color... which I still haven't seen.
Jack's 2k7 Armor
I actually really like this attempt... on the male avatar of course. If it had some sort of midsection to it it would be fantastic. However, once again the female looks odd. I think the gloves look okay but not as cool as on the males. The rest of it just doesn't look that great to me. This set feel so incomplete.. and it makes me sad because it had excellent holiday armor potential.
Kaim's Armor
For one piece of armor it's pretty good. Especially considering it's a sponsor quest item. I've actually been able to use this in a pretty cool avatar. In my opinion at least. It looks better on the male, but it doesn't look strange or awkward on the female. So this to me is a great piece of armor. Regardless of how it was brought to us. And free is never a bad thing.
Samurai Yoroi
The rest of the helmet poses
There are a lot of helmet poses... most of which I find to be too bulky. (I put a link so it's faster) Though it's great to have many choices when it comes to helmets rather than a separate; belt, body, pant, shoulder, arm, etc. like the Mythrill armor. So there's an improvement.
However, again it looks a little off on the female avatar, not extremely bad like some of the others. I personally really like this set. Though I'm sad that there were no boots of some sort for it. Since there isn't anything of that particular maroon(ish) color of red. It makes it hard to match when they add so many different shades... sure you don't have to be exact but still it would be nice for consistency in color. Which has been a common suggestion in Site Feedback.
I think they've been moving toward a better understanding on armor. Though, they still don't have it down quite yet. It's hard to find that line between too many pieces and not enough. Yoroi has not enough, Mythrill far too many... Sames goes for the Jack and Damascus respectfully. :3
