~The Black Shadow~

Enix and his friends trained hard and fiercely, preparing for the battle against the oncoming Mavericks in a few weeks. When tapping into the power of their respective partners, they adopted their battle uniforms, granting them enhanced strength, stamina, defense and speed. Over time, they grew closer, as if they were one. Enix and Levi grew closer as well...as Enix called it more professional than personal, Levi saw it as a chance to understand one another and hopefully grow upon it. Slowly, the days passed, as time passed more slowly than in the outer world. Eventually the imminent rise of the Assault dawned upon them. "This is it guys.", said X. "only Two more Days until the Battle to protect Neo Arcana."

"To be honest, I'm more Nervous, than excited." said Levi.

"Your first battles will do that to you. You'll eventually get used to it." said Fefnir.

"I've been thinking." started Kai. "If our enemies are able to form an army, its obvious that the people behind it won't be easy to take down."

"Obviously, you're right about that, Kai." said Harpuia. "We already knew about it when they 4 of them met up in the Outlands."

"However, we don't know how many of them are there." stated Phantom. "But on the bright side they don't know who the hosts are either, or where they are, and how much they have learned."

"Wait, wheres Enix?" asked Toshio.

"He's probably still at the Shooting Range." replied X.

"I'll go call him over." Said Telos.

"I'll join you." Said Leon.

It was true. Enix was still in battle form, busting away the viruses that inhabited Cyberspace, practicing to be as skilled as X was. However what he didn't know was someone else was approaching.

Forte Immediately soared towards a source of energy, Something he needed to warm up on. He noticed what looked like a digitized human shooting away at Viruses. He descended lightly. Even Enix didn't know he had landed until his voice whispered behind him. "I see, you're enjoying this realm." said Forte. Enix stopped, then turned aiming his buster at whatever was behind him, but nothing was there.

"I see, you don't know who I am." Forte murmured again. "I didn't think so. Not many Humans remember me anymore."

"Who are you?!" demanded Enix, aiming his X buster at everywhere. "Show yourself!" Suddenly a blast of Black energy hurled down on top of him. Enix barely managed to dodge it. In it's place, was Forte, in his brown Cloak, and Black Bat helm.

"I am Forte." he replied. "And you will be my first victim."
