Okay, at the high school: Tyler, Aubrey and I went into a room to make a collage of a bunch of little pictures they gave. People went to get some pictures, and there wasnt many. So they asked me if i wanted to get my interview over with while i was waiting for them to make more copies.
I did so, and I was interviewed by two people. Male and female. We went through the required pictures first, we went over what i liked most about doing the self protrait, what was hardest, etc. Then i told them how we had to get the protrait back from Carver, and they seemed really surprised. They didn't know. So they asked why i chose Patapsco over Carver, and i told them i had a better feeling about it. Like how i felt when i was in each school, and i believe they thought that to be interesting.
We talked about how the still life you made was set up, how long it took me to make each drawing, and then we went on to the color work. The one man actually brought up the artist's name that my teacher told me to base it on, so that was cool. Thank you, Mrs. A!
We went on to talk about my artist, Alex Pardee. I actually found alot of information on him the night before, and i think i really surprised them when i kept talking, and talking.. And talking. I think i said "like" a bit too much.. Not as much as the interview with Carver though. They seemed to be interested in him. I actually got a notice from Gaia that Koy messaged me during my interview. xD
I couldn't really think about what kind of artist i should describe him as, but i read something in his biography saying "[His] Final pieces are often brought to life by translating random shapes and colors into signs of torment and absurdity." And then i remembered the class Mrs. A. taught about Composition. And so i titled him as an "abstract artist" [Kutos to Mrs. A!] I told them about how he became known, and what he's done, like commerical art for bands and everything.. I even related his artwork and how the hoodie i was wearing was based on one of his artworks. =]
I think i wasted alot of their time talking and looking over all of my work. So i feeling guilty for that, but i was happy when i left the interview..
I think the collage i made looked too crowded.. Tyler's looked really good though! I liked it. We went on to the next "test" to draw the still life, and i don't think i did so well at that either.. I don't think i'm very good at drawing "Still Life"s under a time limit. I always feel i should work faster because i see that alot of other people have alot of the outlines down. Notice how slow i work.. And the other thing that was bothering me was the stuffed fox.. Last time we visited Patapsco, it was the stuffed bird, i just feel so low when i see them.. Right now, i'm only afraid that they won't believe i made the artwork i showed them on my own because the audition artwork looks so crappy..
