Iris and Grey traveled down the crooked looking crater and into a small cave. No creatures were seen in the entire thing, but what confused them was a fork in the road. "I don't think Falling Rocks are supposed to change directions.", she said uneasily. "I don't think An Enchanted Crystal fragment should be able to turn directions, either.", he said. Then walked into the mouth of the path in front of them. He examined the edges of the path entrance. Suddenly, his face showed a grim smile.
"I knew it. This is the right path.", he said patting the cave wall. Then he walked forward signaling her to come. "How do you know this is the right path?", she inquired curiously.
"Cave walls don't punch themselves in.", he explained. "They are either dug through or blown apart. But this, you could see the edges of the rock pushed through. Normally they would break off but, its more like it was pushed. I guess the Crystal has a certain force field.".
"You're pretty observant.", she exclaimed.
"One has to, in order to survive the untamed wilderness."
They continued walking down the dark corridors before Iris broke the silence.
"So You've been wandering the entire country?", she asked.
"I've traveled to other continents, but yes I have wandered the country.", he replied.
"wow, thats pretty impressive!", she remarked.
"As much as I enjoy conversations, this really isn't the time to start talking." He stopped in his place, as did Iris.
"Why not?", she asked. All Grey did was point forward, and Iris looked. There it was the Red Crystal Fragment on a platform of Stone surrounded by Frozen Crystals. However there was an edge more like a moat of something moving in it. "Oh no...", moaned Iris. "What is it?", asked Grey.
"Ice Wraiths. One of the foulest creatures in the Vardas Mountains, besides their kins."
Indeed, the Ice Wraiths were one of the most foulest natural creature in the whole of the country, but with the corrupted power of the Fragments, they grew worse. The Ice Wraiths wore Blue hooded cloaks, their skull faces were hidden underneath the shadows of their cloaks, and their claws were hidden under the long sleeves. The Wraiths were known as Death's Wrath.
"Only one way to pass it now.", he said looking at Iris. "I'll throw you over then I'll jump."
Iris looked back in shock.
"Good idea?", he asked.
"Bad Idea! You can't make that jump!", She exclaimed.
"Watch me.", he said, and proceeded to throw her. She soared over and rolled onto her feet, then Grey took a few paces backwards. Then he ran forward and pulled out a piton launchers, one of the same ones Issac, Mia, and Kaos used to board the enemy airships. It shot like an arrow into the ceiling overhead, then pulled him up to the platform. "Why didn't WE do that?!" she inquired.
"Um...It wouldn't carry the weight.", he lied.
"Are you saying I'm overweight?!", she yelled.
"look at you two, bickering like a married couple.", said a voice.
They turned and saw another cloaked Crystal Hunter. She had light blue hair and actually looked cute.
"And you are?", asked Grey.
"Erica Frosthail.", she replied. "And YOU'RE in my way."
