Can't You?
This is for my dad who left about 3 years ago
I scream but no one hears
I cry but there's no tears
My heart's ripped open but there's no blood
The pain hit's it with a big thud
Thoughts wander through my head
I try to block them out but more come instead
I try to talk but nothing comes out
And when something does it's all a shout
"Can't you hear the screams?"
"Can't you see the tears?"
"Can't you see the blood?"
"Can't you hear the thud?"
"Can't you see i'm silantly dying?"
Now it's to late, I'm already halfway dead
And that thought doesn't even pass through your head
Now I'm lying, but deep down inside...I'm dying
I lie about being happy
I fake the smiles and laughs
I'm trying so hard to cover up my past
You're supposed to be here
You're supposed to know
But you're not
And you don't
So I'm done lying
And without you...
I'm gonna' keep on dying
