Lacey bolted upright, breathing fast, as she was woken from her dream. Who would be visiting me this early? Wait, Who would be visiting me at all? She got out of bed, pulled on her presentable skirt, apron, flowing top, and vest, and made for the door.
"Umm. . . Can I help you?"
The stranger was dressed in a long cloak, covering her back and shoulders. She was wearing beautiful clothes. Lacey suddenly felt shabby. The girl beckoned Lacey to follow. She would walk a few steps, and turn her head slightly to make sure she was coming.
After what seemed like a long while, the stranger stopped. She poked at the ground, and fell through. Lacey jumped in after her.
She found herself caught unaware in an unreal place. It didn't even look like they were underground. Trees grew and sparkled everywhere, like they were dropping magic. There were creatures you could only dream about seeing. Unicorns. Pheonixs. Faries. Mermaids. Even a large, blue dragon. And in the middle of it all, a sparkling lake.
Lacey followed the girl onto the banks. In a flash, the girl was gone. her clothes lay in the grassy sand. A locket on top. They were so neatly folded. A peice of paper was stuck on top. It read:
Lacey, please take this gift. What you have seen here will remain for awhile. But it will only exist at night. Follow your dreams, something special is bound to happen.
