lilly almost floated home that day, unaware that she was being observed and fallowed. "hey mom." she said, taking off her sweater when she came home. trish looked breifly up from the book she had been reading. "well you seem awfly cheery, did something happen between you and zac?" she asked. lilly couldnt keep from smilling. "how'd you guess?" she asked. "im your mother, thats what we do. by the way, what happened yesterday, you came home really mad and then..." lilly frowned. "jacobs back, as well as grandpa." she looked away from her mother, and toward the window. it had begun to rain. "well, what did you guys talk about?" asked trish, trying not to growl. "the usual, how i am a gift, and how i am the one to save our race. i just dont get it. save our race from what?" "no one really knows, maybe we are becoming extinct and it is your job to repopulate the earth." "but why does everyone else care about my being in love with zac and you are the only one that doesnt give me a hard time about it?" "because i was in love with a mortal once. the love, the dream..." said trish, looking off into another time. all of a sudden, they heard a most dreadfully familliar chuckle. "thats all it was wasnt it 'mom', a dream." said jacob, perched on the railing of there stairs. "jacob." spat trish. "mom." he regarded her with as little intrest as a cat would a lose string. "and look what happened after that dream, he left you. all mortals do after a while." he said, looking at lilly. "only werewolves mate for life." "her father did the right thing. he still loved me and i still love him." jacob jumped from his perch. " yes, but it is still a dream, thats all it really is, a dream known as love." and with that, his features changed as he went down on all fours, and became a wolf, and jumped fluidly out of the house.
