I decided to take this off of my main profile and pop it into my journal so it doesn't take up too much space. But don't worry, as you can see, I provided a convenient link on there in case you were curious.
Name: Rayne
Nickname: MoD, which she prefers to be called.
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 150lb
Age: 18
Species: Born human, but has since gained and controlled dragon and werewolf DNA.
Powers: Enhanced strength, speed, stamina, senses, and intelligence, flight, fire-breathing, and dragon summon and control, werewolf abilities that further inhance her senses, strenght, speed, and agility.
Weaknesses: Fear of blood, inability to harm any dragon (evil or no), believes there is good in all, easily distracted by shiny objects, unable to feel anything in lower part of body, silver.
Background: Being the daughter of an Olympic athlete father and nanobot engineer mother, it's no wonder Rayne was well on her way to be a hero, though maybe not of the super variety. Her IQ is registered at 160 and has shattered all the track records of every school she's attended. That was until, however, the tragic accident that occurred on her 14th birthday.
She and her father were on their way home from a small Italian eatery, her birthday wish. It was pouring rain. It was difficult to see, but they figured they'll make it okay. However, he couldn't see the truck coming at them from opposing traffic. It rammed them head on. Her father was killed instantly, while Rayne managed to survive, but at a cost. Her legs and lower back were badly damaged, but worse yet, she saw the grotesque seen of her killed father. Since then, she's been in a wheelchair and had a debilitating fear of blood.
Her mother was devastated. She blamed herself for not being there during that night, and since then, dived into her work just to cope with the pain of what occurred.
Rayne soon dived into depression. Her grades slacked, and her athletic motivation was gone. She just lost her will to care.
One day, on the last day of her public school career, she is summoned to go to her mother's laboratory. Her mother spent the last 4 years of her life perfecting a nano-tech suit designed to make those who can't walk, walk. It was still in the testing phases, so they needed the right subject to use it on, and Rayne was the one chosen. It's taken some time for her to get used to, but she's been wearing it ever since. She's also managed to upgrade it on several occasions to have the look and feel of real skin so she can wear it with real clothes over top.
More recently, Rayne went on a soul-searching expedition in Ireland to better understand herself and what has happened. During this time, she also came across an injured dragon. Although it was bleeding, and she flashed back to that night, she couldn't let it suffer like that. She tried to help it as best she could, though she knew nothing about how to treat their species. The dragon was very moved by her kindness, though he knew his time was drawing short. Just before he died, he told her about a special secret the dragons are only meant to share with someone they trust. She was told by him to eat his heart, and in doing so, she would gain his knowledge and his power. Of course, she was disgusted by the idea, but as it was his dying wish, obliged. Ever since, she's had his memories, the ability to breathe fire, and create super tough scales all over her body. She re-modeled her suit to look like him as thanks.
More recently, she headed over to Japan to gain samurai and ninja skills (namely, those of the bow, sword, and stealth). During this time, she was bitten by a werewolf, though has no recollection of it. It laid dormant for a while until it was suddenly activated by the moon one night, in which she caused a rampage throughout Rosso's, nearly killing 4 patrons (Calo, Winter, Mime, and Luna). Distraught over her new predicament, she asked for help from the one person who could: Calo.
Calo takes her to the mysterious Area 51 and tells her that a kind of surgery will need to be performed to control the beast. Of course, the thought of surgery scared the heck out of her. First, some tests were run which she didn't really understand why, but she went along. Then, the chip was inserted into her brain. It as a rather uneventful or painful surgery... At first. Then the nanobots went berzerk over the "threat" and tried to expel it, much to her dismay. The pain was unbearable. Calo said it wasn't as bad as giving birth, but she almost wished she was doing that instead. MoD also unleashed some dragon rage in the midst of it, spooking Calo a bit. Finally, after what seemed like hours, though it may have only been minutes, the pain subsided, and she was free to go. The first thing she did? She slept, dispite the still minor headache she had.
More recently, MoD found a strange egg in the forest. She waited a bit to see if the mother would return, but it never did. Fearing that it might freeze from lack of body heat, she took the egg as her own and has since developed a motherly instinct, perhaps from the other two DNA's she has. She'll do everything in her power to raise the hatchling to it's full potental, even asking that a fellow beast tamer, Ajax, to be the father. Of course... if the Skeletal Queen will let it have it's first breath...
