I thought of this poem just last night when i was rymin words.
I named it "When You Told Me"
There's no other way
to say how I feel.
It's like I tripped over a bannana peel.
The whole world was wrong
when they said we wouldn't get along.
As we lie beneath the stars
we realize how in love we are.
We're looking at the same night skie
pretending the sun will not rise.
I can remember the look in your eyes
when you told me we would have to soon say good-bye.
When you told me we would have to part
it broke my heart.
We wanted to leave town together
and keep running forever.
We think this is not our love story
keep telling each other sorry.
As I walk on the beach
in my bare feet.
I think one day we will meet.
The only thing that gets me by
is thinking that you'll come back tonight.
It was the only thing that felt right.
I always dream of the look in your eye
when you told me this was our last good-bye.
