Unofficial Item Creation Contest Winners! X3
I took a brief inventory of all of the items I have made for Gaia to appease the curious kitty within me, and here are some stats:
79% of the items I have made have either been straightforward item requests like "I want a flyswatter" or responses to more vague user requests like "we need more orange clothing". I think all of them were gleaned from Site Feedback and Petitions.
15% of the items I have made have been my own ideas, but at least half of these were simply necessary add-ons to the above 79%, such as needing to create shoes to round out a set of clothing that was requested.
6% of the items I have made have been assignments given to me, where the nature of the item was out of my control. However almost all of these were based on user requests anyway.
So all in all, over 90% of the items I have made were based on user requests in one way or another. Some of you are affecting the inventory without realizing it. *mwee*
What Does the New Year Hold?
My life has been nothing if not full. <3 I have two beautiful children, a wonderful husband, a sanity-savior in the form of my mother, a home to care for, a church to worship at, an engaging job at a staffing company, and of course my pixel-work at Gaia Online. I feel as if I get busier and busier every year, and five years ago I declared that I couldn't possibly get any busier than I already was...and yet here I am...busier. *hee* Juno doesn't know how I manage to get any pixelling done, much less produce as much as I have (though it's certainly not an impressive amount in and of itself when compared to the contributions of the full time staff). When I sit down and try to figure it out, I don't really know how I manage it either. XD
Recently a long-time prayer was answered in the form of a job offer for my husband from the church we currently attend. Now instead of working the graveyard shift for a local law enforcement agency, he has regular human hours and is getting paid for doing what he loves best. heart Since my Gaia-work time was carved out of those night hours during which all of my family was either out of the house or sleeping, my schedule will undergo some necessary changes. I hope to continue to be a productive member of the pixelling team in the coming year, however. We're experts in juggling schedules by now! X3
I wish you all a happy new year, and hope to continue to serve the Gaia community in 2008~ heart
