Sanora was playing in the back yard of the small cottage that her family called home. Sanora was about 10 years old. She sat on the ground of the green grass and plucked some grass from the hot ground. She whiped the sweat off of her forhead and whiped it on her white cotton dress. She groaned. "Hmh.." she said looking at the forest her family owned. "What's back there..." she said starting to stand up. She walked over to the forest and put one foot on the soft forest floor.
"Sanora!" Her mother yelled from the hot kitchen while washing the dishes.
Sanora quickly moved her foot back onto dark green grass. "Yes mother?" she yelled back while walking into the cottage.
"Sanora dear.. it's time for you too sweep the floor and clean you're bedroom." Her mother said with a small grin sweeping onto her tanned face.
"yes mother..." she said sighing as she walked up the creeky old stair case and into her small cramped bedroom. Sanora pulled her old rocking chair up to her small window and shuved her butt into it and rocked slowly. "I hate my life here... I want to run away.. today. When mother is moping... or right now..." Sanora said grabing a duffle bag and shuving another change of clothes and her favorite stuffed animal. She opened her bedroom window and steped on the roof of the house. She threw her bag down and tied the rope from her room onto the window and slid down the rope. She tugged the rope down and packed it away in her bag. She ran into the forest. The sticks and leaves crackled like fireworks under her small feet. Her hair got tangled on a small branch that hung from a big oak tree. "owch.." she whispered. She slowly untangeled her long golden-brown locks from the branch and started off again.
