Chapter II
"Ow! Will you stop!?" I grabbed his hands and held them up so his feet lifted off the ground.
"You promised we'd go racing today!" He pouted.
"You want to race in that?"
He paused for a few moments. "No."
"Alright then." I set him down.
He snorted and went out of the bedroom doors. I followed him out of the Palace and watched him meet up with some other kids. Jack then ran off with his little friends and I sat under the overhang made by the gargoyles. Sighing, images popped through my mind of my lost lover Kai. Then it came to me. He isn't dead. If he was dead then why would he be able to move? I had to go find him. He was alive somewhere in Spira. Or maybe even in the lower levels such as Empirea or Ragnarok. The other larger floating continents. I figured that I must keep it secret, either that or just vanish one night and hope to be able to hire an airship pilot. The table was set, all I have to do is wait for the right time. Kai has been in my thoughts for over two years now. Finally I planned to go find him. My people would be safe from harm. A woman with bouncy blond hair walked up to me.
"I know what you're thinking." her lips curled into a grin.
"Yea? What is it Vinny?"
"You're gunna go find your muscle man." She punched me in the back and caused me to flinch. Vinny clapped and bounced around. I rolled my eyes and smiled.
"Sure, sure." I could see her smirk and turn around.
"It's almost supper time. Come with me." She tugged on my arm while I started to walk down the stairs.
"Hey- wha-?" Vinny let go of me and turned around. "Where in Sin are you going?"
Waving behind me I ran down the stairs. "I have to get Jack!"
Vinny snorted and shrugged walking back into the Palace. I glanced over my shoulder and went the opposite way that Jack would be.
"Anyone here a pilot that is willing to be hired?!"
A bunch of men looked at me questioningly. A man then stood up and raised his hand.
"Aye. I will." The man spoke. He had long black hair that spiked about in the back. He wore a sweater that was a dark blue and sculpted around his muscular torso. The sweater didn't have any sleeves and rose up to his neck like a turtle-neck shirt. He also wore baggy pants and combat boots. An old fashioned gun was on his belt and he smirked showing his brilliant white teeth. I could feel a goofy smiled come to my face but shook it away.
"How much are we lookin' at, love?" He spoke gently.
"As much as you want." I stuttered.
"Oh really?" He smiled and held up a familiar leather pouch. It was mine! Swiftly I grabbed it back and listened to him laugh. My face turned red as I put my pouch back on my weapon hilt.
"Just show me to your ship." I growled. This was going to be a long trip.
